Never said he wasn't a decent player tbh.
Thats not suggesting he's a world beater.Taumata, on the field, as a halfback, is a huge, huge, huge worry.

Moltzen is adequate imo, certainly in this day and age of very few real halfbacks he's certainly not worse than the Marc Herbert's, Grant Rovelli's, Brett Seymour's, Scott Porter's, Jeff Robson's etc... of this world.I really don't care how much he played there against 18 year olds; he's not an organiser. With Farah at hooker and Marshall at five-eighth, the team is desperately crying out for someone to give the team structure and direction ie. a real halfback. Until this happens they will continue to be dreadfully inconsistent and everyone will continue to say they have underperformed when the reality of the matter is the fact that their team just isn't structured well enough to do anything other than when they are well on top.
Moltzen could make a very good five-eighth outside a "real halfback" and so could Taumata, but given that we have Benji Marshall on our books and not Brent Sherwin, they are pretty pointless players to have.
I'd take Porter or Robson over him in the context of the Tigers team any day of the week. Those two might not have much else, but they know how to give a team genuine structure. Moltzen's very skilful and he has a good running game but that's not really what I think most teams crucially need from the position, particularly if they have creative dummy halves and/or five-eighths.Moltzen is adequate imo, certainly in this day and age of very few real halfbacks he's certainly not worse than the Marc Herbert's, Grant Rovelli's, Brett Seymour's, Scott Porter's, Jeff Robson's etc... of this world.
The key there was "as a halfback". There's a big difference between being a good halfback and being a good player; Taumata's a classic five-eighth.Thats not suggesting he's a world beater.
Porter is terrible, be surprised if hes still in first grade come round 15, surely sharks have got better.I'd take Porter or Robson over him in the context of the Tigers team any day of the week. But surely he'd feel like a bit of a clown running out in a team with 16 dark skin, dark haired 'conventional' abo's around him wouldn't he?I'm sure he is indigenous in some way, otherwise he wouldn't be playing. Cant judge someone just on the way they look.
Whilst on the subject. How the **** does Ben Jones get a run? For a start his name shouldn't be mentioned anywhere near an ''All Star'' match, and secondly what part of him is indigenous? He's a pale skinned ranga. I ran into a few aboriginal elders slaying gators by the creek yesterday and they said they are disgusted by his inclusion.
God you're dire. But surely he'd feel like a bit of a clown running out in a team with 16 dark skin, dark haired 'conventional' abo's around him wouldn't he?
There was a racial slur in the post that was deleted. Nothing to do with questioning an Aboriginal having red hair. Are you blokes serious? How on earth was I racist? Even Ausage's article states how his team mates and others debate his heritage. Are they all racists too? The only racism i've seen here is from Julian referring to them as 'coons'.
Lighten up fellas.
