Arnel misses out again.

Suspect the side they go with will be:

McIntosh
Watling
Guptill
Taylor
Broom
Vettori
McCullum
Southee
Tuffey
McKay
Martin

The side I want out of those 13 would look like:

McIntosh
Watling
Guptill (really want him as an ODI specialist for now tbh)
Taylor
Broom
Ingram
Vettori
McCullum
Tuffeh
McKay
Martin

EDIT: Why is Patel there when we have Guptill? :p
Part of me thinks who cares. It will be a cakewalk against Bangers. The other part of me thinks that they will stick with the same team against Aussie if it performs well. So from that perspective. I want to see the extra batsman in there. 4 bowlers is enough against Australia especially since they are going to score 400 runs anyways. We should be playing for a (high scoring) draw in my opinion.

I like Flem's second team but just heard on the news Guptil will be number 5. Perhaps Broom will be 6 and Ingram 3.

Southee/McKay

McIntosh
Watling
Ingram
Taylor

McCullum at no.8 would be wasted. But I guess Vettori at no.8 would be wasted too. Oh well.

A lot is riding on McKay in this test match. If he can show some real penetration, we may just have found something.

A waste at 8? Likely hood is that the openers will go cheaply so 8 really is 6.

Would personally like to see Ingram sit out this one out and give McIntosh & Watling another shot at opening together. Also Guptill shifting down the order doesn't seem to have much long term value.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Test isn't at Napier so I doubt Jeets will get a run. My XI:

1. P Ingram
2. T McIntosh
3. BJ Watling
4. R Taylor
5. N Broom
6. M Guptill
7. B McCullum+
8. D Vettori
9. D Tuffey
10. A McKay
11. C Martin

Could this home season be Martin's last, does anyone think?

Paper I just read says Greatbatch thinks Ingrams form is too good to ignore and he'll either be opening or at number three for the test.

Ingram was interviewed by our local paper and he's been doing a lot of work with Martin Crowe. Crowe has been asking him to stand taller at the crease and coaching him on playing spin.

Lol didnt expect Crowe to want him. In the commentary booth he's always going on about technique. Though he did back McIntosh for his original test selection..

Martin should of retired last year tbh. If the selectors have a brain they'll go:

Tuffey
McKay
Southee

I'm probably Martins biggest critic on here, but I think he's a must for this year until we see what McKay and whoever else can do. We don't have many experienced seamers and only two proven test class ones. Martin is one of them.

Southee when the ball is swinging and/or seaming is lethal, but on anything else he's a dud. Martin is the better all round bowler.

I'd have Arnel ahead of Southee as well, but that won't be happening.

Not Terrible
Tamim :(

Blackcaps side going much faster, leaking runs at the moment. Though with Tamim out there aren't too many worries.
