Cullinan vs. Siva on Sachin vs. Ponting is some of the worst commentary I've listened to in a while.

You think so? Every interview I've ever heard, he's dismissed stats talk pretty quickly.

Maybe there's a clue in his tour diary but tbh I cbf dusting it off the shelf.
I don't think he particularly likes discussing them or considering them over winning a Test but I've read many interviews from teammates saying he knows almost everything there is to know about Cricket, and Golf, and is a statsguru.

Ponting is a stats freak and an unrelenting character. Pretty sure he'll go after it long enough to get it.

Well, not talking about the quality of the 100s, just the number. IIRC removing B/Z Sachin has 1 more 100 than Ricky.
ZImbabwe was better than Windies of 2002 till today till 2003. Easy to put those on ignore?

Ponting's going to have to seriously play for a lot longer to catch Tendulkar. Everyone thought it was a given a few years ago but I held fort

I backed Kallis to beat them both, still a possibility if he gives up his bowling.

Ponting needs to give up ODIs soon to be honest.

Also Tendulakr HAS PROVED how he values this... I pray Ponting takes up the challenge because that would mean Tendulakr will continue to play even past 40. :p

Siva just said Tendulkar is easily better...Cullinan said he is a Ponting fan.

It was totally stupid and lacking any actual arguments.

Really? Didn't pick him as the type.

In 02 he scored 1 century against Zimbabwe and 2 against WIndies. So, equal?

Moving on. I think India just lost their lifeline. The defeat will be heavy. Haven't read any news re the injured players but will they make the 2nd Test?

Really? Didn't pick him as the type.
Yeah, IIRC Slater was going on about it on TV this summer also. I think the reason it doesn't suit him is because he doesn't seem to be the type to put personal accolades ahead of team achievements - but you just know it's in the back of his mind.

What were their thoughts?
There weren't thoughts, there was cheerleading from Siva who spoke absolute ****, and Cullinan was saying **** like "imagine if Ponting started when Sachin started".

Umm Ponting wasn't as good as Sachin when he was 16-18 Darryl.

Both are a disgrace. If you're going to have a Ponting vs. Sachin debate, at least talk properly about it.

Oh God, now it's stupid Gavaskar vs. Tendulkar. And without any arguments again. So dire. At least on CW, people pretend to have arguments.

Parnell bowling well here the pace attack is really class.

SA just one world class spinner away from being the 3rd best side for the past 30 years.

How is AUS losing in IND 08 in a period of transition/decline, remotely comparable to IND probably losing in SA in this current series when they are still ranked # 1 & supposedly on the up?8-)

If INDs batting dont step up in this series, it will prove their depth is up to scratch yet. A key part of being # 1 is having a good back-up FYI, AUS depth in the glory years stepped up in many series when main XI players where injured.
Because, you dope, when you're in transit, you have time to plan and prepare. When you get 3 injured in one go, you're left with little time to overcome the surprise and replace 30% of your team.

Seriously, why I bother reading your nonsense anymore is beyond me.
