*Official* West Indies In Australia

So? Blaming one batter for the failure of an entire team is bollocks. That and he got a decent nut.
That's the problem a team has when half of the team is out injured. I certainly believe that this would have been a good competitive series had the WIndies been full strength. But at the moment the WIndies batting lineup is solely dependent on Gayle scoring 30% of their runs.

Mark Waugh was inconsistent too. Most natural strikers of the ball appear to be more inconsistent than more technically inclined batsmen. That doesn't mean they don't work as hard. It just means that people naturally assume that they are lazy when they get out, because the rest of the time they look so good.
And Waugh had a very good side around him, Gayle doesn't which means his stupid antics are costing us much more than they did Australia, there comes a time where there has to be some repercussions for these kind of shambolic performances, it's not just about Gayle's batting, he dropped two huge clangers in the field in the first match too.

Yes, infact I had time to see his whole innings today. He got a ball that pitched on middle, swung away and hit his pad in front of off stump. Hardly threw it away or had a brain explosion.

There are times when he plays awful shots and has brain snaps in which he is more than deserving of the criticism he gets.

However today that is not the case. He got a good one first up and missed it. It's happened to players that were even in the mood too, believe it or not.
I'm blaming him for the two games he's played thus far where he's been nothing short of shocking both in the field and batting, and i'm also blaming him for keeping the same crap side out there after we got murdered in the first match, he's just been crap from top to bottom.

The sooner we get rid of this inconsistent clown "the Don" like i said before i simply cannot wait for Gil Langley to come through, even now the kid seems to have a better cricketing brain than the Don, i just don't think the Don gives a f#ck about the game anymore and to add insult to injury he's a sh1t captain, he should be embarrassed with his performances thus far.

Ah I see, Gayle's the sole selector.

Hang on, no he isn't.

Ever consider he might be feeling the pressure of being the guy who, if he fails, the team won't pick themselves up but se gets all the blame?

The guy is simply too inconsistent to lead this side IMO, yes he can have his good days but more often than not he's out for something like 15 runs wheather it's in a test or ODI, he's a joke.

Haven't noticed him being too bad in the field today, tbh. But maybe I've missed something.

Chris Gayle is not responsible for the application and ability of the other players in his side. Fact. That is a matter for the individuals themselves. He didn't make Dowlin leave his bat outside off stump, or Morton miss a straight one, or Simmons play at one he didn't need to...

Like I said though, I may have missed something.

So you didn't see him cost us TWO WICKETS from poor fielding in the first game? i guess not 8-) , i'm just sick of his "on and off" form and it just seems like he doesn't give a sh1t about it, it's almost as if he's playing for his own enjoyment so he just swings away without a care in the world.

It's interesting, because for a bloke who you claims lacks consistency, he seems to be getting a heap of wickets!

Kinda makes me chuckle.

Gayle
Barath
Sarwan
Chanderpaul
Nash
Bravo
Ramdin
Benn
Taylor
Roach
Edwards

looks like a very strong test team. Replace Nash with Pollard and you have the makings of a very good ODI side. It's just unfortunate that half these players are out with injury.

Thanks for proving my point that he's an inconsistent clown!! .
As a matter of fact if you looked closer you'd notice Gayle scores 15 or less in 12(38) of his innings or 32% of the time.

Ponting 24(68) 35%
Strauss 19(50) 38%
Vettori 16(33) 48%
Sangakkara 14(48) 29%
Dhoni 13(46) 28%
Smith 12 (34) 35%
Shakib 8 (25) 32%

Only two captains (who've played much since 09) are more CONSISTENT than Gayle and thats Dhoni and Sangakkara.

Reckon Pollard and Smith should just play their natural games from here on in to be honest and see if they can't change the pace of the game and make the Aussies think on their feet a bit. Intensity has dropped a little from Australia I reckon.
