*Official* South Africa in India

Dale Steyn - WAG. Dead set love that man, reckon he's my favourite quick since Wasim retired.

I find it difficult to understand how Sachin getting out to a beauty early in his innings constitutes a "failure".
Spot on !!

Whenever such a comment pops up I am reminded of Barrington who once was in a spell of very low scores all with very short stays at the wicket. A Journalist asked him if he was in the worst form of his life (or words to that effect). Barrington replied, "I cant tell you because I haven't stayed long enough at the crease to find out whether I am in good form or bad!"
Well said.

That being said, Sachin would do well to improve his record v South Africa in the remaining tests he plays v them this year.

cue some posters here coming back with "RSA timed this right. They batted the best way. They knew Steyn could dismantle them.. blah..blah..blah" defence of the speed of batting of RSA in the first dig... :p
Nah, Kallis batted too quickly

BCCI will be filthy at the the prospect of losing match receipts from Day 5 which wouldnt have been the case if he'd batted with a s/r of 10

Not at all ashamed to admit I witnessed one of the best ever bowling spells in my life so far.. Perhaps right up there with the legendary 5-1 of Curtly....

3.4-2-3-5

On a flat pitch that beggars belief man! Steyn you are an adonis.. You bring back ***eh to fast bowling.

Steyn, WAG..

Another reminder that good fast bowlers can do well on any track.. All this rubbish of low and slow pitches and stuff killing the game... Yeah, certain pitches are not good but not every pitch that is low and slow is a bad one..
Tbf, this wicket was never as flat as Kallis, Amla and the Indian bowlers made it look

I hope we can stonewall away a defeat but what I'm really looking forward to is Sehwag vs Steyn/Morkel. Hope there's venom from both sides.

Very true. Akram was a threat on the pitches in India in 98-99.

So glad I picked Steyn for the most wickets in the 2010 Test Tipping Comp. what a gun thread btw

Agreed - the SSN reporter yesterday made a comment to the effect that "even I could get runs on that pitch" which was plainly ridiculous given there'd only been two guys who'd scored heavily, they'd just both gone on with it in a big way.

FMD, that's amazing - just logged in to see what was going on (no Setanta). They're amazing numbers.

Badrinath has the highest Test Match batting average out of everyone playing today. :)
