Probably the best chance they had in years to at least square the test series...The worst thing about this series, from a Pakistani point of view, is that they could have been in with a good shot of winning or squaring the test series but dropped the ball (in more ways than one).
Just wish he'd come out and admit he's ordinary at it. It sticks in my craw that the T20 captaincy is basically just Test career development for Clarke, all other considerations (like actually winning games/tournaments) secondary. Gets annoying, after another hefty T20 loss, to hear "Yeah we lost but what's important is that we tried a few things/learnt a lot from the game/played some new guys which stands us in good stead for one-dayers/Tests."Saw Clarke being interviewed last night and just thought how everyone on here would have been cringing.
Probably not. NSW have opening batsmen to fill up down to number 5 and then you are into Haddin and the all rounders.I think it's a good thing he's finally admitted he's crap. Hopefully he does work on his game and we see massive improvements. As it stands he isn't in the top 20 Twenty20 batsmen in the country and I'm not sure he'd make many other international sides based on both his record and ability in the format (dunno if he'd even make the NSW side on merit if we're being completely honest).
Who would you have instead? Another bowler perhaps?Jaques wouldn't be in the team IMO.
