If i say Brian Lara was the perfect like for like replacement after his 375 to in 1994 to Viv Richards as the Windies new batting genius. Clearly thats not comparing them as similar players. Of course you could use a better expression than "like for like", but you see where im going with this..

Yes perfect like for like replacement to suite to the 4-3-3 formation. Not like for like as players.

Again i was not comparing Zlatan & Eto'o as players. I was rather comparing Zlatan's suitability as a perfect replacement to lead the line in Barca's typical 4-3-3 formation.

Is it debatable than Ibrahimovic was the best replacement Barca could have gotten for Eto"o?. Was anyone else better in Europe available?

Yo just answer the question. Was Ibrahimovic not the best replacement for Eto'o at the time?. Its funny how your CWers love to spin may be a simple grammar error & use as a way to run from the actual topic that is being discussed. Its a very erudite new way of coping out i must say...

Fact is i have already stated my POV on why:

- I believe one of Inter or Chelsea can beat Barcelona the CL, given that are the only teams on in Europe who have the tools in basically all area's to stop them.

- Why Barcelona of 07/08 are not different to Barcelona of today when it comes to quality of football they are playing. The 3 new players have not hindered or changed the way the play one bit - but rather has aided in maintaining a high standard of ***y football.

- Why Messi IMO is not exactly better than what he was in 07/08. But rather is currently going through an extended peak period from 07/08 (when he scored his Maradona type goal) to now.

You want to debate these, or want to go round in circles about what i actually meant when i said "like for like"?

TBH, Chelsea did more than well against them last year. Limited them to pretty much nothing but keeping possession without actually creating anything until the last kick of the game.

Tbf I didn't think it was that risky at all. In the tie in question Chelsea were staggeringly unlucky and over the two legs fully deserved to beat Barcelona.
