Except the big difference that is the passage of time and 1.5 seasons. It is not the same team.
Since when does a gap in time make a team different?. AUS where the best test team between 95 to 2006/07, you can hardly pin point a difference in the team in the quality & standard of cricket they played even though a few players changed.

The core of the team remained the same as it is with Barcelona ATM. Barcelona just have 3 different players from 07/08 to now in what would be their best XI. Those replacements have mainted Barca's standard of football in the last 1.5 seasons.

The only reason I can feel confident that Inter can beat Chelsea is because of Mourinho and Ancelotti is the manager of Chelsea, who used to manage AC Milan and who Inter have beaten them a few times in recent years. But yeah, Inter suck at the Champions League, just like South Africa suck at the Cricket World Cup.

I'm still wondering why nobody has made a move for Pele tbh, he's been a free agent for a hell of a long time now.
Brazil 1958 won the World Cup, reckon if they rocked up in South Africa they'd win it again based on past experience.

Agreed, not sure why the majority of the players haven't been picked for the current squad tbh, given that time makes no difference to the ability and general quality of a team.

Is that actually a genuine question?
Yes, their is no way Barcelona are a different team when it comes to the standard & style of football that they are playing now compared to 07/08 when United beat them in the CL SF. Thats pretty obvious from watching the blaugrana play since then.

Slight personnel change (3 to be exact) means nothing.

History is a guide not a determinant of future outcomes. Inter could change their history, just like South Africa broke their chockers tag by winning test series in AUS & ENG in recent years after failing for much of the 90s.

HA...stupid comparison. To use further cricket examples:

West Indies domianted test cricket from 1976-1986

AUS 95-2006/07

ENG 1951-1958

Kindly explain to me how "time" made any diffrence to the general ability & quality of those teams respectively as they smoked everything their path?

Despite being excellent over a period of 7 years or whatever it's pretty ******** to suggest that there wouldn't be times that the team was better than at a different time. Despite being the best in the world for the entire period there would be times when the gulf between them and second place was larger.

Actually, Australa were equally as good from a certain day in 1995 to another certain day in 2006/7. Forfty percent of people know that.

But seriously, guys. Lionel Messi is as good now as he was 2 years ago. That's why he's scored goals 4 times as regularly since. I see the light.

This is why you need that Harbhajan picture below you posts since by saying the bolded you clearly dont know what you talking about.

Lets use the West Indies example. I deliberately said 1976-1986 instead of extending it to 1995, because 76-86 was the ultimate peak for WI when they indeed they maintained a consistent standard of smoking everyone their path.

From 86-95 is when they where challenged alot, which would be the period when they indeed where not as good as 76-86 - but still where the best team in the world.

Same thing with AUS i could have started from 1989, but i started at 95 because thats when until 2006/07 they where unanimously the best team. From ENG 89 to PAK 94 they where good but weren't as invincible as 95-2006/07 (although they always had a achillies heel when touring the sub-continent).

....Going back to football if one use United, if they where to win the league this year & make it 4 in a row. The current United team although still strong wouldn't be as strong as the one's with Ronaldo & Tevez & a Scholes/Giggs (who where at their peaks in 06/07, 07/08 & 08/09).

Pretty idiotic to suggest that players can have a peak when they remain at the same level all their careers. Open your eyes. 8-)
