*Official* Pakistan in Australia

Small point, but I thought the defining characteristic of a streaker was partial or full nudity? Today's invader was a ****, but kept his own covered.

AFL fan too, as he tackled the body and not the legs.
Yeah, it's pretty much used whenever a person runs onto a sports field these days (by me anyways).

Moronic spectators, another Afridi brainsnap and an actual contest. This game has been interesting - Pakistan actually played some very good cricket, but weren't quite good enough for AUS this time around.

Truth be told, I've been impressed with Australia's cricket throughout this ODI series - more convincing than our Test team's cricket and proof that our ODI team is still streets ahead of our Test team (unfortunately). Pakistan have played some poor cricket at times, but I doubt that we would've won 5-0 had we played consistently mediocre cricket.

Ryan Harris has just set the world on fire, Clint McKay has been accurate and has gained some disconcerting bounce and every one of our batsman (bar Voges) performed at some point during the series. Many are saying that the WI will be more competitive and that could be the case, but I admit that I don't see them troubling us all that much throughout the series they'll have with us. Their hopes seem to rest on Chris Gayle a little too much. He's like a talisman, inspiring them with some daring field placements, some fielding heroics and his big-hitting.

Bit surprised he hasn't been claimed as one of NSW's own, being Nowra-born.
It's funny how WA have already claimed Johnson as one of their own, he hasn't played a game for them yet FFS (seems a bit pointless he would transfer to play for WA considering he is rarely going to play a game for them).

Even though it was against a somewhat demoralized batting lineup, that was comfortably Johnson's best ODI spell in a while :) Also the quickest I've seen him bowl for some time as well.

It worked for him, After joining WA he has won international cricketer of the year. Should start a rush of players wanting to head west.

That picture of that drongo grinning with the tackled Pakistani player pinned beneath him made me really angry for some reason. I second the cruel and unusual punishments dreamed up for him.

Pet Shop Boys to agree.

Nannes, Tait, Warner, Birt and SSmith all called up for the T20, pretty happy about this.

Ive noticed of Late that birt hardly even gets a game for the Tigers, his selection to be honest doesnt make any sense he has a sub par 20 20 record.

And i cant believe John Hastings and Daniel Christian have been overlooked even Aaron Heal.

Nathan Hauritz exempliary fielding and skwashbuckling batting along with his great bowling would have been an asset in t20's i would have thought.

But then again im no selector.

Rimmington unlucky to miss out for mine. But it is good to see Australia picking players more suited to T20. Only need to find a way to get Clarke out of the team.

Hauritz isn't in the T20 squad?
Australia squad: Shane Watson, Shaun Marsh, David Warner, Michael Clarke (capt), Cameron White, Travis Birt, David Hussey, Steven Smith, Brad Haddin (wk), Mitchell Johnson, Ryan Harris, Dirk Nannes, Shaun Tait.

No Michael Hussey, Peter Siddle, Nathan Hauritz, James Hopes, Clint McKay or Adam Voges.

It may sound like absurd at this time but I think Pakiustan is not that far off from being a decent side in both formats. Usually I say a captain role is over rated but in this case I reckon a better captain could have influnced atleast one or two results. The lack of form from Younis,Yusuf,Kamran and Gul was one determining factor and ofcourse the catching.

There were very few positives but it was refreshing to see Umer,Alam and Aamer ofcourse at this stage its very difficult for them to give match winning performances but they remained consistent and looked ready for top level challenge.Asif was top notch without being lucky and it was heartening to see him upping his pace gradually from the NZL series till the odi's and also Salman Butt finally seems to be going somewhere.

There are always lessons learned from big whoopings and I ope the Pakistan think tank is intelligent enough to rectify some basic school boy mistakes which also includes the team selections finally I hope the selcectors have realised that Faisal,Farhat,Misbah are out of their depth at this level and they never get to play for Pakistan again.
