Not really, they'd only be more likely to be aware of how hated or not hated United were in England. And tbf every single aspect of the media in Northern Ireland is identical to that in England (same country after all) so the only difference between my experience and yours is personal and anecdotal evidence. Surely it's self-evident that someone growing up in the Wirral with a Liverpool-mad Dad and someone growing up in Belfast with a United-mad Dad would have experienced different tales of past United-hatred? You might well be right on the topic, because "I've heard this from person X in several pubs" against "I heard something different from person Y in several other pubs" isn't much use as far as getting to the bottom of it goes. But I don't really see why your personal experiences are more valid just because they happened in England. Unless you really do count whether fans in England hate United as more important than whether fans in Northern Ireland do.
George Best is single handedly the reason people from Ireland support Man Utd.

Failing that, everyone else i know from Ireland supports Liverpool....which presumably is the place where they got off the boat.

They might not have been popular but they definitely weren't "the most hated club in England."
They definitely were
As someone who's old enough to remember the halcyon days of Man U being, if not shyte, then amusingly feckless & who grew up with a ManUre-following father I can confirm Cozza is right here. Everyone has always hated Man U, even under Fat Ron when the occasional FA Cup was the limit of their achievements. Even then they had a fanbase out of all proportion to their success. Liverpool used to win everything in the 80s, but at my (East Anglian) school there were just as many ManUre fans.

It's mainly the fans, it must be said. They're the non-football fan's football team.

Well yeah, it's England I was talking about!

Apology accepted, United fans

Yeah, Trevor Francis remarked to Ferguson after that game that "you got your winner in the second leg."

The funniest part is that if you read Fergie's autobiography he actually says the 9 minutes was wrong and it should have been 12!
Think that pretty much sums him up really.

Must say my hatred towards Man utd has mellowed a fair bit in recent years, always hated them when I was little, partly because of my Dad although interestingly his dislike has also softened in recent years, and he hated them through the barren years.

Don't really care enough to have any genuine negative feeling towards them and they do play good football which is all that really matters to me when I watch the Premiership, hatred transferd to Liverpool for a while but they are just amusing now.

Have to say T*ttenham are another extremely disliked team. Obviously I'm contractually obliged to hate them, but it's business that's also a pleasure & all my mates (the majority of whom aren't Gooners) hate them too. I think it's the deluded fans who still think they're a big club and the hilarious mismanagement. Have they ever sold a player and not instantly regretted it?

I'm so full of hate towards other teams.
Is pretty easy when you are an Arsenal fan, always got Spurs rivalry and then in recent years Man utd.

Is pretty hard for us to have any real hatreds at Brentford although the old fans will still tell you how much they hate Fulham.

QPR as well but I find that a bit pathetic, plus by birth I should support them so will never hate them myself, I also know they don't take is seriously at all.

Yeah more mocked than hated I would say.

I hate these sort of gagging orders, unless there is a really serious reason for why something should not be published (providing that the information is true), such as the publication potentially outraging the public decency or would harm national security or whatever, I would say the paper ought to be able to print whatever information they want. I can't imagine the publication of whatever this story supposedly entailed would do a great deal of harm to anyone than Terry himself either, fairly obvious that if it had been any ordinary person bringing this sort of case it would have been thrown out.

Edit: Just realised that the article was about the order being lifted rather than imposed, in my defence I'll say it's a bit late, and I never was one for reading things with any great scrutiny. My main point remains, however.

Bobby Manc has given Benjani the greenlight as to whether or not he wants to join Sunderland. The deal should be worth around £1.5m.

Not your fault, clearly. "The most hated club in England" obviously means "the most hated English club in Norn Iron."
Haha, well I interpret it as "the most hated club-in-England" rather than "the most-hated-club in England". If that makes sense :p.
