Hope so. Once again we're criminally understaffed at work on the weekend but if I can get to the game I very much shall.
Its a great venue. I'd never been before that match about a month ago. It was jam packed (a record attendance for Pukekura Park, apparently). Weather was perfect too, which is great for someone from Wellington who'd only have seen the sun 3 times this year if he stayed at home all the time.

Haha NP weather is schizo atm. Wouldnt surprise me if El Nino sent rain.

20/20s and ODs generally get big numbers. We dont see much of the likes of Ross Taylor and co. out here so people flock to the games.

Apparently, CD have announced that Pukekura Park's gonna get more games; given the attendances have been better than Palmy, Napier and Nelson. Good on 'em, I say.

Any chance of pukekura park expanding on its one ODI in the future? I know its tiny but all the players and fans seem to love it, surely they could increase the size. BTW what are the sizes?

There's no room to expand at all, I think. When I was there with their 'record crowd', I think it was in the high 4-thousands of spectators. Can't imagine you could fit too many more than 5k in there.

To expand it youd have to smash up the park, including filling in part of the lake. It wont happen, too many residents opposed. Theyre already livid over new practice nets.

If they played tests there itd make it look like test cricket was booming in NZ:) Also liked the bay oval. Not serious suggestions here but they would be two nice test grounds

Yeah they would make nice grounds. NP pitch would have to be more bowler friendly though or it'd be a drawfest. Bowler friendly pitch with those short boundaires would make for interesting cricket.

**** you Ross Taylor :p Best 20/20 game I've ever been to it must be said, the crowd was going nuts when ND ran out Napier. But my god, how good is Taylor. Insane hitting.

Wow, if New Lynn were able to field a full strength club side, Jimmy would take the field with Martin Guptill, Reece Young, Daryl Tuffey and Michael Bates.
