Semi-final 2: Sussex v East Robbham
Fast bowler Mat Mitchell produced the performance of his career, and a clear T20 best haul to lead Upper Body into an all-CW final. The Green bowler tore through the Sussex top order, then returned to kill off the tail, as he finished with 5-19 and Sussex with 103 all out. Nath Patrick called correctly at the toss and elected to chase on a good pitch. But even he was surprised by the start he received. Mitchell sent Nash and Wright back to the pavilion for ducks in his first over of the innings. There was a brief recovery from Ed Joyce (21) and Dwayne Smith (10), until both were out by the 5th over and the score was 31-4. Eager to impress against his future club, Martyn Corrin used his feet well to take 2 fours off offspinner Cannon. With just 10 to his name, however, he nicked Patrick to the very safe gloves of Bosco Fitzsimmons. Yardy spectacularly trod on his wicket soon after, and Mitchell was recalled to bowl at the tail. Number 11, Anyon managed to take his over long-off twice, but he had the final laugh all ball later.
Upper Body were buzzing after their performance in the field, so they wasted no time getting stuck into the chase. Dan Smith scored 10 off his own bat in the opening over by James Kirtley. He was out soon after for a quickfire 24, but his start allowed Phil Hughes to cruise with fellow Aussie Shane Watson. They were united at 45-1 and never separated. Watson played himself in to 22 from 24 balls, then unleashed on Yardy for 3 sixes in the 13th over. The following over Hughes collected the boundary needed to win the game and set up an historic final match against West Robbham.
