*Official* India in Bangladesh

Shakib can call himself a Test Cricketer with a straight face too.

Shakib and Mushfiq are probably the only 2 Bangladesh players who could actually make another Test team.
Tamim could potentially play for NZ, and possibly one of the spinners could play for WI. Besides that Mushy and Shakib would be the only players who could get a spot in the other teams.

Rahim is so awesome.

I was specifically referring to the batsmen, and Shakib's diabolical shot selection in this series has made me question whether we all got a bit ahead of ourselves in rating him so highly. He's lucky to still be at the crease now and has played some truly dire swipes outside off stump in each of his innings in this series.

However, upon reflection, that was a bit of a knee-jerk post and I'm hoping the mature approach that saw him make runs against South Africa's outstanding pace attack are a truer reflection of where he stands as a test batsman than what we've seen during the last couple of weeks.

More of a limited overs batsman in all honesty, would say hes a bowling allrounder rather than a batting allrounder.

Tamim on potential is better than some of NZ's top order, but I don't really think he would last long at this stage in his career. He's obviously very young so would have a chance to get back into it.

Mahmudullah has started his career amazingly too.

Shakib's scores have been 17,17 and 34. Looks like he'll be making 34 or 51 next innings.

Why is he batting so low?
I assume that among the reasons are that he usually gets through 25 overs with the ball and needs a rest after doing so. If we batted him at 3 or 4 he'd probably be back out in the middle within 10 minutes of the change-over more often than not.

Siddons has already stated that Mushfiq bats at 7 for similar reasons ie. needing a rest after all the keeping he does.

BD batting order needs an overhaul. riyad should be in the team as a batsman and part time bowler batting at #4, rahim and naeem bat at 5 or 6, play shakib more as a bowling allrounder batting at 7. the biggest issues are the #2 and #3 slots and there really isn't anyone around to play in those positions other than the ones they've been trying, talents, but no one who's shown enough consistency. rony talukder will possibly be a long term opener but he needs more time, nazmus sadat has talent but isn't consistent enough in the longer version, marshall ayub should get a couple more years as well but might be a possible #3 in the future. would be really handy if the aftab's and kapali's would find consistency.

How's Shamsur Rahman been going in the first class league this year?

He was singled out by Richard McInnes as the standout of the U/19s team that contained Mushfiq, Shakib and Tamim, and he described him as the sort of batsman who could tough it out and deliver half centuries against good opposition even if he was a bit erratic against crap ones.

He then proceeded to have a few lean years while his peers all made the national team, but he finally delivered a superb season in the national league last time round.

I'd have thought he'd be in the running for a spot by now?

Cuz if he plays up the order and gets out then BD are doomed. Absolutely doomed. if I was a BD bowler like Shafiul I'd definitely be telling of the senior batsmen like "not only do I do all the bowling I gotta bat for you guys to". Why don't you guys do your job for once.

He kept playing cameos in the DPL, finished averaging about 25 I think. There have only been two rounds of NCL cricket so far and I don't think he's made any real impression.

Considering Bangladesh were 5 out after 12.4 overs, to last 70 overs has been a decent achievement.

India only made 243 first innings last Test, Bangladesh will need to them to get out for around that mark again, can't see it happening though!
