Yeah because they're the only team in debt.![]()
Bolton can go **** themselves tbh. After the number of fouls, hacks, kicks, elbows etc that they've been allowed to get away with against us it's now happened to them. Shame it was that Davies and not the real one. Looked a handy enough player.Foul from Gallas missed and Arsenal score. Tsk tsk.
Abramovich just pays off the debts at the end of the season.... May be debt free, but financially unviable to anyone who doesnt own Siberia.Thought it was funny that the sub heading on BBC was something like 'Chelsea now virtually debt free' tbh, if there was one club you thought you could count on to be in a worse state...
Yeah that is pretty much the crux of the matter. At the end of the day MU decided that they wanted to be floated on the stock exchange, and the shareholders sold the shares to Glazer, and they knew what would happen. You reap what you sow.It makes no difference whether United are in debt or not, either they pay interest on their debts or they pay their debts off and stop earning interest on that money in the business. All the headlines with lots of big numbers are just being sensationalist.
The concern isn't whether they're in debt, it's whether they're making money. The figures quoted in the press don't really mean anything because you don't know whether the business is actually losing money or has just had a lot of its assets revalued. You'd have to look at their accounts to find out whether they're really in trouble. But they've managed to run up more debt in a period of almost unprecedentedly tight credit, so someone obviously has a great deal of faith in their business model. When notoriously cautious banks are willing to stake another $200m of their money on United's future I don't think we have too much cause to worry. Not just yet anyway.
Well, no, because their debtors are included in their accounts. £20m of credit from Real Madrid counts much the same as £20m hard cash on a balance sheet. They count illiquid assets too. From my skimming of the articles it seems that the Ronaldo 80m is the only reason they actually made money after taking the replayments into account. Staggeringly they seem to suggest it was mostly payed up front which just blows my mind.
Not as clear cut, the majority of individuals didnt actually get a choice, auto buy out when the Glazers hit 80%, the few big bucks men who owed large blocks of shares were culpable for that position. As to reaping what we sowed, well, 20 years as a powerhouse can be attributed to being a well run PLC, so were happy with that.Yeah that is pretty much the crux of the matter. Its only the last couple of seasons he's done that isn't it? anyway he's not paying off debts, all the debt was owed to him but its been converted it into equity. Think they still lost a hefty amount last year though, but less than beforeAbramovich just pays off the debts at the end of the season.... May be debt free, but financially unviable to anyone who doesnt own Siberia.
You would hope not. It is like me paying 370 euros to watch Inter play at the San Siro, but they are the most expensive seats, or you can pay 22 euro and sit in the 3rd Tier (that might be a safe place to be, what with the habit of sending mopeds over the railings).Surely they aren't the cheapest seats?
One thing that struck me as being very impressive about Eastmond actually was the way he seemed to have so much spacial awareness. From the moment he came on you could see even when he didn't have the ball he was always looking around to make sure he could get into a position where he could receive the ball safely and was totally aware of what was going on around him. Both Diaby and Denilson in particular would do well to learn from this, there were times last night where he really looked like a farmyard animal running around with his head cut off.Bolton can go **** themselves tbh. Great comeback though, hilarious at times. Funny how we were meant to have strengthened with Clichy and Denilson coming in for Traore and Eastmond and they both nearly lost us the game. Denilson especially, was just a daft challenge, had so many players covering him
Still need another striker now though. Relying a lot on our midfielders to get the goals(and boy they are) but against the big guns coming up they could be smothered and dry up easily.
EDIT: Arsene: "I can show you some tackles. Put all the tackles from the two games together and we look at theirs and we look at ours, you can compare."
Yes, exactly. Bolton can piss off back home now.
My thoughts on Denilson are pretty well made tbh, don't trust him in the slightest especially against big team's midfields. Diaby had a lost game but he at least is capable of dominating a game in the centre and is always a goal threat. His injury is a big big blow though. One thing that struck me as being very impressive about Eastmond actually was the way he seemed to have so much spacial awareness.
