Bah, anyone notice that the horrible foam boundary thingees are back. Watching the leather skip over that old rope is a sight I miss. Was it there in the last test, didn't notice. They didn't have them for much of the series.

Has got some good balls all series TBF. Would keep him @ 3 for now, desreves an extended run..Trott really fancying this, isn't he
And now put out of his misery.
Averages what for the series - about 27? Perhaps not the cast iron certainty at number 3 that we thought. Easily forgotten by some that his 100 at The Oval was made lower doen the order, and I'm not even sure he bats at 3 for his county.

We're done for. KP's looked pretty clueless all series really. Footwork's not looked crisp, he's looked tentative against the quick bowlers and not looked at all confident. Played 1 good knock all series, in the 1st Test in his partnership with Trott. I can't see us avoiding defeat in this game from here, going to need KP and Colly to bat for a long, long time to have a chance of it.

Haa. Well i'd say SA have the pace attack that can bowl out IND on flat decks TBH, but IND would be crazy to give a helpul deck. Too bad it looks like De Wet wont be touring..What chance of the Indians preparing anything other than dustbowls or batting paradises for the upcoming series?

Unfortunately, with 3 bouts of stress fractures, I'd wager he'll be a medium pacer the next time we see him

Yea one mistake i hope the Saffies dont do is try to make Parnell a swing bowler, like AUS tried to do with Johnson early. Let him just build on his strenghts..
Yea it seems so. But ya never know Shane Bond still was fairly sharp whenever he came back from his numerous back injuries.

His action looks awkward and it's possibly the reason why he's had those injuries.
Dude, This is South Africa, Jacques Kallis is considered our premier swing bowler. Quite frankly, we call anyone who doesn't bowl the ball bullet straight a swing bowler. We'd never touch his action for fear of him losing the (what we consider) insane amounts of swing he already gets.
It's just like how we call anyone who bowls off a few paces and below 100kph a spinner.
That's the main reason we jumped up and down about ball tampering in the last game. Our premier Cricket physicists have told us it's humanly impossible to curve the ball at more than 2cm without soaking it overnight in the Newlands brewery & picking at the seam and our crack team of strategists still insist that what appears to be swing from the English bowlers is actually merely an optical illusion caused by moire patterns created from Paul Collingwood & Ian Bell's incredible gingerness.

This feels like Headingley. Need Pietersen to play his natural game tomorrow. Colly can hold the fort at the other end. If those two can put on a decent partnership and eat away at the deficit, then we might just have a chance at not losing, with a bit of help from the heavens.

I assume that means devastated, which I'm puzzled by, seeing as SA have bossed all but 2 days of this series. 1-1 would still mean that England committed armed daylight bank robbery while being filmed in 3D HiDef IMAX and gotten away scot free.

Right, two points:
1 - the relevance of who the better team has been is what to how I should feel if my team don't win? I support England and we're one nil up going into the final Test. So yes, I will be devastated if we lose (which god knows we should from here).
2 - sick of hearing all this about how 'lucky' we've been so far. Guess what? Those two games we drew - you know why they were draws? Because you never bowled us out twice. Rain/bad light weren't factors - so tough titties. As I said after the Ashes, you don't win Test matches by being the better team or by nearly winning, you win them by taking all of the wickets that you need to take. Absolutely nothing is lucky about the fact that we didn't get bowled out in the first and third Tests.
(whereas as much as it pains me to say it, rain clearly was a factor in Cardiff. But Jimmeh & Monty were set for the long haul there anyway

Yet to see Parnell swing the ball in any format to date. He looks like a hit the deck seamer that relies on a bit of seam movment (although i haven't seen much of that either as yet). He has good natural pace, so the sky is the limit for him..
