Honestly no chance Liverpool will get relegated this year. 40 points is usually the cut off, and they're almost there already. Bottom half on the other hand.
Don't think there's any serious suggestion they could be, tbf. Pretty sure duffer was using the quote as proof of the 'Pool fans' hysterical (in both senses of the word) insanity.

Fifth would be a disaster for yer Scousers and it's looking not just possible but probable now Bobby Manc has introduced Citeh to the joys of defending.

But they are not. Got a nice Europa campaign to look forward and a desperate attempt to somehow get fourth. Gerrard if anything will be in worse shape come the summer as alongside Torres he will be carrying the side. Though, Torres may now cut losses and opt for surgery.
Oh yea i forgot about the new format in Europa cup. But its far less if they where still involved in the FA Cup & Carling Cup though. Plus based on their form, the first big team they run into in the Europa Cup, they could be out

After the particularly bad PR that the owners have had of late, it'd look worse than usual if they were to sack the manager. Even if Benitez seems to have thoroughly run his course. That said, I wouldn't want to risk someone like Hiddink or Klinsman coming into the role.
Hiddink will more or less take over at Juventus if/when they fire Ciro Ferrara.

Guus is one of these coaches who could more or less make a success out of any team to be honest, there isn't one team in the world who would welcome him if they had a vacancy to fill.

Yeah as an Australian I can't imagine anyone not wanting Hiddink to manage their club. Everyone can use a bit of luck in football

Asking anyone to turn around that shower is almost redefining what it means to be a miracle worker.

Not a Hiddink fan?

Would love for Guus to take over 'pool.

I don't trust anyone who's that chummy with Roman Abramovich. Don't get me wrong, I have loads of respect, because he commands it. But I just don't trust him. Just like I don't trust anyone in football who is friends with Jack Warner.

Guess that shows how Liverpool fans are generally supportive of their managers, there are plenty of clubs that would probably have litlte hesitation in listing there manager as one the least tolerable. Also could any self-respecting Man utd fan (so not Rose) put Ferguson near the top of most likable managers? I would like to think not.
I certainly could, but I respect success a lot so my list would largely have the best managers at the top. Wenger, Ferguson, O'Neill, Hodgson and Moyes would probably make up my top five, and Mourinho would have been up there when he was at Chelsea too, and Capello's by far the most likeable England manager of the past 20 years for me. I like the guys who get the job done.

On the other hand "decent blokes" like Steve McClaren would be rock bottom every time.

As I said, the Juve job is pretty much his. That is why the Russian FA have let him take over a club side whilst still managing Russia.
Don't believe I ever insinuated that anything would/may happen to the contrary.

Would you have said the same about BFS after he saved Rovers from near certain relegation last year? He definitely got the job done.

Near certain relegation? Not how I remember it...

But yeah, he's a decent manager. Less likeable than most other decent managers because he blames everyone else for his faults but still more likeable than clowns like Steve McClaren, David O'Leary and John Barnes.

To fans of other clubs no he's not.
