Went to the game. Victoria's fielding cost them the chance to make it competetive. Pollard WAG!

Hussey needed to bowl more, it seems the only game plan from Victoria was to bowl slower balls

Now to beat the vics in a shield game :)

Pretty well done from South Australia, didn't quite expect that, makes it an open competition.

Victoria why select Maxwell but not bowl him? Surely not playing as a specialist bat from number 8? He been carving it up in district cricket with bat and ball this year, I'm sure vic_orthdox would attest he carries some X-factor about him. Something like 150 off 110 balls against your team?

Absolutely smooshed. Pollard proves once again that he's worth every penny just before the IPL auction. Big bucks coming his way.

I think Maxwell is being picked as a bit of a 50/50. In the end, White would probably trust Hodge and Hussey's off-spin more at that level in that environment than Maxwell's, and his batting is the type where it can come off big time or he can make a goose of himself.

He's certainly one of the last blokes you want to walk in at 2/230, which is what he did when he smacked 100 off 60 balls within an hour against us.

Is he much of an attacking finger-spinner? Or is he prone to firing in more flatter balls?

I have only watched him bowl once, was getting some nice drift but felt he could be giving the ball more air. But this was just a once only viewing.

Aussie will still be talking up Nannes in about 10 years time IMO. His posts about Noffke and Tait to confirm.
Haa you know me.. I'm still talking about Gavin Robertson 10 years later..

But yea Nannes should be # 5 in the test bowling ranks behind the main 4 (Hilfy/Bollinger/Johnson/Siddle) as long has he doesn't decline domestically & Lee is not fit. If Lee is fit he should be # 6.

Nannes definately should be one of 3 quicks starting in ODIs IMO. I reckon Bracken's days are over..

I actually have given up on Noffke since the SA tour. Just checking his form for WA he seems past his best, although of course i haven't seen him bowl.

Tait well with spells like what he did last night, none of us should right him off. He should be high up in pecking order to make the T20 WC squad without a doubt..

Might head down to the pub to watch tonights game.

Tasmania will need to play well without Bailey, makes an already weak batting lineup even weaker. I believe Dighton makes a return tonight, not a bad player to have returning. I can still remember his incredible 111 against New South Wales.

Chris Lynn might make his debut for Queensland. Heard some great things about him, and was in flying form in the future's league. Tipping Queensland to win this with ease.

I'm heading to the GABBA! Lynn should play, a bit article of him in the courier mail today, his dad made him a cricket net to practice in at his house, it looks great, no wonder he's a decent bat!

Can't wait until I finish work today, going straight to the pub next to the GABBA before the match.

I hope the pitch offers nothing for the bowlers tbh, I wanna see fours and sixes.
