*Official* England in South Africa

This. Don't give a **** whether he scores 98% of his runs in that area, totally unnecessary to play it in this situation. I personally would drop him for his two dismissals in this match, been a disgrace, the both of 'em. Looked great before which is what makes it all the more galling.
Wouldn't you sooner drop the guys who scored no runs?

It's a totally unfounded reactionary rant, I think you'll find. Has no basis in sense or intelligence (no change from most of my posts I know). ATM I'd be dropping KP too, and anyone else that's pissed me off today.

Mind you I should be happy as my prediction earlier in the thread is coming to fruition.:@

Haha, what's odd is that England have been alright in this match. They've not been good enough, but they've bowled and batted quite well at times. Smith and Kallis playing obscenely good knocks has really swung it, but I can't remember England playing this well in (what seems to be) a losing cause for a long time.

I think England's first innings batting required more application in good batting conditions. Extremely loose at times.

We'll win, it's all good

Was where the match was lost, 5 of the top 6 out to depressingly poor shots.

Edit: Thanks KingKallis, don't get many right, and I wish I'd gotten this one wrong....

I thought South Africa bowled well. But yeah, you couldn't really say that many of them were "got out". It wasn't the worst batting performance England have put in over the years but when they look back at the game, that'll be seen as where they lost it.

Have KP & Strauss ever played in a Test series together where neither of them have tonned up?

For my money I can only think of about two or three series where KP has failed to score a ton. India away 06, Strauss tonned up in Mumbai. Ashes 09, Strauss tonned up Lord's

Seems unlikely. KP failed to even score a fifty in Sri Lanka two years ago when Strauss had been dropped, though.

About 13 months maybe? The first test in India when they chased down 400+.

Agreed about Kallis & Smith - you couldn't really argue - but we were about 150 short in our first innings. You're always going to get a couple of soft dismissals, but 5 of our top 6 doing it killed us really.

Will be three down by close-of-play, will lose this match about an hour-and-a-half after lunch.

This day sucks the big one, utterly miserable:@
Uncanny.

Cook should get six licks of the cat for his dismissal. WTF was he doing? When a team's batting time the most unforgiveable thing is getting yourself out with a rash shot.

Just saw the alleged tampering incidents. Broad's is a total beat up; if he's good enough to trap a moving cricket ball on the non-shiny side every time he's in the wrong sport.

Jimmeh's tho...hmm. Well, it doesn't look great, tbh. Picking at the leather if not the seam.

Was listening to talk***** a couple of hours ago and old Dazzler was getting quite animated about the Burnley Express's actions being totally legit - he's quite an education - there are so many things that "all fass borlers doo"

Adrian Durham's talk of Arse wanting the match called off tonight because they're foreign ponces was enough to make me turn off before Goughies words of wisdom, TBH.

I was trying not to laugh at it yesterday when I was unlucky enough to catch some. "Since when did a bit of snow cause football matches to be cancelled? Has football gone soft? Has the entire nation gone soft?"

I'm pretty sure they use everything that ever happens to moan about the nation going soft.
