LOL at the "bad for test cricket" stuff. Would people be saying that if Pakistan came from being 8 down with a two digit lead at the start of the day to win? It was an incredible day of test cricket, and overall a great test with a thrilling conclusion and the result in doubt from the first ball to the last.

You couldn't ask for a better advertisement for this form of the game. Bad for test cricket my arse.

Ponting: "The wicket was challenging and the way the guys struck out was wonderful, the first half an hour would have told the story, how the game was going. we held on to our catches and the boys bowled well. Yousuf's wicket was massive and Haddin's catch was excellent, once we exposed the Pakistan tail the game was over. A great win for us and the boys will celebrate. Not many changes at Hobart and all of guys were terrific."
Not many = 2?

I agree, would have been better for test cricket if Pakistan had got to 1-1

AUS escapes defeat for the third time in 4 matches, this kind of performance is expected from a top team with top players (good records) and I don't think it's good for AUS in the long run even though it saved them some embarrassment today.

'Bad' is taking it too far granted ....but better for test cricket if it were 1-1 . Truth of the matter is the match wasn't even close in the end & pakistan were never going to get close from the moment Karman & Umar got out.

Would've been awesome for test cricket had Pakistan scrapped through in a close one.

I say this from a neutral POV, whereas you're more interested in Australia's fortune (and fair enough).

From a neutral perspective, I'm disappointed because now I'm 'meh' about the 3rd test ....whereas would have been damn excited at 1-1 ..surely u can see that would've been a better result for test cricket (world-wide & not just Faaip-wide)

It's good for them long term when they're mostly an inexperienced team, and thei inexperienced blokes are learning how to win tight games, especially after the disappointment of England, SA and India over the past year or so.
I think there's a tendency to forget just how inexperienced much of Australia's side is - Johnson's the most experienced bowler and he's played what, 30 odd tests? Watson at the top hasn't played much, neither have North or Haddin, likewise Hauritz.
