About time too with the declaration. And Onions has just told the Saffers that they're history, apparently.

Maybe that's why Strauss never declared, so that he could get Onions all riled up and ready to pounce

I do have a horrible feeling that I might have to watch Graham Smith bat for the next day and a half, little bit worried that everyone is expecting Swann to be the big player here, he has been brilliant on this tour so far but at times we put too much expectation on him when we need to bowl a side out.

Anderson to bowl them all out though so it will all be fine

Thank god.

Oh and Australia will probably beat Pakistan because they completely outplayed them. But Pakistan still have a reasonable chance of winning because Ponting is a total moron. Look at how slow the scoring was in Australia's 2nd innings, you think they'd have scored that slowly having a free slog from 454-5?
I can see your logic but don't agree with it tbh

It quite often increased your chances of winning if you give the opposition a slim chance of winning, they tend to play their shots and obviously are more likely to get out. Add to this the fact that no team has scored that many runs to win a Test on the MCG, and they have been playing there since 1877

We need early wickets with this new ball if we are to have any chance of doing it.Obviously the wicket of Smith today is vital and hopefully we can get Kallis too before the weather closes in.I'd take them being 3 down tonight right now if possible.

Kids are at their mum's. But I in fact did watch the first session in Oz and a bit of the second and then got up for this. Will regret not sleeping when I have to go back to work :@

Can you seriously see Pakistan stonewalling their way through 150+ overs of play in Australia?

South Africa in these conditions? Definitely a realistic possibility.

After they lost their whizz kid, they did bat quite slowly in the first innings, and the pitch is pretty slow, but no I don't think they will. It could also be argued that Aust only has that many overs at them because they declared twice.

But again you could use your argument that they would have scored quickly towards the end of their first innings if they had not declared, which is a valid point:)
