I'm actually very tolerant and lenient as far as player behaviour on the field is concerned. It should never be forgotten that the field is the players' workplace, that they're out there playing for their livelihood, that the adrenalin is flowing because of the crowds, that they're up against other blokes who are trying to knock their heads off.

However, even allowing for all that, the knob factor yesterday RE Watson, was off the scale.

He absolutely embarrassed himself.

Be a real shame if this test is best remembered for Watto's dumb act or even the Haddin-Johnson-Benn push an shove, because there's been some great cricket played. Watson and Katich on day one, Roach roughing up Ponting, Haddin's knock. Gayle's awesome innings, and Dough-boys bowling, Bravo's spell. Been a great match.

Phil Hughes? It made more sense for the fact that he was saying to hughes, 'I've got you number kid'. Watto appeared to just be behaving like a brat and stepped over the line. The holders of power at CA will pull him into line no doubt.

I don't buy into, 'The Ashes is more important' therefore Watson's celebrations v Flintoff's should be governed by some formula proportional to the importance of the series (eye of the beholder) multiplied by the player dismissed etc.etc.

Yeah I thought of Hughes too, Flintoff was all over him verbally but he didn't do anything stupid when he got him out.

Flintoffs celebrations are as embarrassing as Watsons girly jumping, cept Watson just had to be all up in the grill of Gayle. I just hope Watson gets embarrassed looking at the replays.

Watson makes the whole team fit so much better, scoring runs taking wickets

I don't have a different opinion of Watson at all about the incident. I mean he's just gotten out the bloke who had scored close to 300 runs for being out only once..

Sure, it wasn't great a celebration, but I would much rather see a bloke get excited after bowling well and getting the top batsman out compared with say Brett Lee bowling rubbish for the entire innings only to get all excited after he's got the number 10 batsman out.

Tbh I thought that was a tail-ender-might-as-well-claim-it from Haddin - mainly because he delayed before celebrating for a second too long.


And cos I don't like Haddin :ph34r:

What's even the point of using hotspot when the umpire gives someone out if when hotspot doesn't show anything whatsoever the decision is upheld anyway?

Awesome final two matches by West Indies. I really hope that next time they tour Australia they play at least another warm up match.

Looking forward to seeing Taylor and Roach bowl in tandem when South Africa tours West Indies in June.
