Blow me for commenting on the subject; and well done on completely skipping my complimenting of Ponting for having a word with the guy. And its not as if I don't blow up at McCullum when he tools up too.

That was more aimed at Matt, and my continual pursuit of Michael Clarke for that catch he claimed against NZ. Cheating bastard. I thought he'd pick up on that post, to be honest

But I'm not defending Watson, or even criticism people for criticisizing him in this instance. I'm commenting on the trend that whenever an Aussie player does something that is toolish or even borderline toolish, it has become very predictable as to who will be leading the witch hunt.

Add to the fact Gayle bowled Roach into the wind plus the Ponting retired hurt should count as a wicket. Similar to Sharma here a couple years back wowed everyone but finished with a very poor series average.

Under normal circumstances, sure he should just be fined. I'm not sure whether the context of what's already happened in this match would be taken into account. If it is, then he may well be banned. It would be an overreaction to this incident in isolation, but the match referee is bound to take a dim view.
