**Official** Pakistan in New Zealand (3 tests)

What a pity!!! The test match was developing into a fascinating contest.

New Zealand will be especially gutted; I feel quite sorry for them.

The proactive and assertive approach employed by Watling was also a breath of fresh air.

He looks a bright prospect for the Black Caps.

Though, on the whole, the even series is a fair result.

1-1 is probably fair for the series as a whole, but I won't lie to you, I'm fuming.

Yea it was good to see. He's usually that type of player (although his career strike-rate states otherwise). He's a busy cricketer that's always looking for singles and for the most part will put the bad balls away. He should be in this team for a long time to come.

Vettori gets too many accolades. He swept the awards at the NZ year end cricket awards. Too much recognition. Share the love.

Alternatively, some of his team mates could start producing on a consistent basis (Taylor/Bond aside).

While its a pain not to win this one, as a lot of people have said, a 1-1 draw is a fair reflection on the series.

I'll have to wait 12 months before passing any serious judgements on Watling. Yes, he may have looked good today, but don't forget that a year ago at the same venue Daniel Flynn was looking similarly impressive, so only time will tell.

I still don't think McIntosh is gonna make it in the long run. He'll get chewed up and spat out by Johnson and Hilfenhaus (if he plays). Flynn will be gone of course, replaced by Ryder. And I can't help but wonder how long Guptill will survive at number 3. He's another who'll do miserably against the Aussies.

The other question is whether Vettori will persist with the 5 bowlers option, or whether (with Ryder back), he'll move back down the order in place of Neil Broom. With O'Brien gone, taking 20 aussie wickets looks a lot tougher, but if Bond returns I think we might see Vettori back at number 8 come March.

Team of the Series:

Imran Farhat
Salman Butt
Ross Taylor
Mohammad Yousuf
Umar Akmal
Daniel Vettori
Kamran Akmal
Mohammad Aamer
Iain O'Brien
Danish Kaneria
Mohammad Asif

I like your team of the series. And agree that since Bond only played one game he should miss out. I would make Yousuf bat three though.
Even though Pak's openers did much better than ours. I think the openers are the weak point in the team.

McCullum's glovework still easily better than Akmal's, on that basis he'd probably slip into my team...but I am painfully biased.

1-1 a just result this is not the Pakistan of 90's that a drawn series in NZL would be a dissapointment for me, Amir's fitness looked really poor in this game might even rest him for boxing day and go in with 2 spinners.

bit hypothetical considering the current situation but would love to see how NZL fare against Pak in sub-cont conditions overall I think Pak might just be slightly ahead.
