Almunia beaten on his side for the free kick. Lold at the commentators saying he had no chance, maybe because he is a bit poo. So many players need replacing it's not funny.

Almunia
Sagna Gallas Vermaelen Clichy
Fabregas Song Nasri
Walcott RVP Arshavin

Fabianski
Eboue
Senderos
Rosicky
Ramsey/Diaby/Denilson
Vela
Eduardo

The first XI bar Almunia looks pretty strong. It's just the bench, Ramsey needs some time but other than him there's not a lot of promise there. If we were to sign another keeper and Almunia drop to the bench that's ok, there are worse substitute keepers around the league. Senderos as our 3rd choice CB is dreadful, though if Djourou was fit it would look considerably rosier. Eduardo is so out of form it's untrue and Vela doesn't seem to be progressing as quickly as we might have hoped.

Stop thinking like a fan. If you where Cole you would have done the same. If he wasn't a football player he couldn't get near to her posch ass, so although it was bit rough leaving the gunners for Chelsea because of the money & you know how these whoes around the world are today. Your paper aint right, you aint gonna get no bitch.

But who cares about his personal life, fact is he has remained a quality left-back since he moved to Chelsea. If his form since 2006/07 had declined this hate would make sense & i would join it, but the Cole hate has never been about football & so yall need to drop this BS.

Nah all black ppl in ENG i know like him. Nothing racial intended by this statement. Thats the facts.
I've got to cringe at how many times I come in here and read "nothing racial mentioned by this statement", prior to some comment focusing clearly on race is made, if it wasn't so incredibly imbecilic I would probably laugh.

Firstly, the chances of that group of players ever being fit enough to start one game together let alone a heap of them is remote to say the least.

Secondly I don't think it looks strong at all in the slightest, such a ridiculously unbalanced side lacking height, power, ability or desire to impose themselves on tough opposition and only one attacking player with any genuine pace or want to get in behind defenders and he's always injured, plus fullbacks who love woefully crossing the ball into the box when we have no players who actually wants to or can attack the ball in the air.

Lastly they are so mentally weak I wonder why they even bother. Don't turn up away against smaller teams and fold completely against the bigger ones. Like clockwork.

Djourou has a degenerative knee condition, you can count his fitness as much of a bonus as Rosicky's. Eboue, Senderos, Silvestre, Diaby, Denilson. Heh, team needs a proper purge to even have a chance of being succesful.

I think the core of a good team is there tbh, the team Marcuss has given, is strong, insofar that it is easily good enough to challenge for a top 4 place season in season out, and occasionally take points off the big sides. However, it whether or not it is capable of more than this is extremely dubious.

I do however, completely agree about the lack of height and physicality, and endless crosses aimed in at players like Arshavin, Vela and Eduardo annoy the hell out of me as well. Surely anyone with a brain can see that against any team this tactic is going to be totally inefectual, let alone against a team with such a strong back line as Chelsea.

Song coming off at half time was a very questionable call indeed, he is the only player who can actually physically impose himself in the midfield and make tackles, and he was actually having a good game today. Why the hell Denilson wasn't taken off is anyone's guess, because yet again he was a waste of space. Almunia, yeah, enough of him, need a new keeper. Not a huge fan of Clichy either, Ashley Cole showed today that regardless of the fact he is a total assclown he is leagues ahead of him as a footballer. Can't see much of a future for Rosicky either to be honest, much as I like him, he's just so far behind in the pecking order and with Vela and Ramsey emerging I can't see him lasting much longer, esspecially when it is so blatantly obvious that the team needs an injection of bite rather than flair.

Haa yalll really dont understand the psycology of dealing with these hoes of today. Lets leave it as that.
Bahahahaha. What a line.

Anyway, have I got any more takers on the "Almunia is absolute poo" theory today?

So infuriating, he can have some absolute cracking games and then can be absolute horse ****. He's not absolute poo, he's not good enough for us though.

That security blanket isn't going to be there much longer though with Citeh having another summer in the transfer window and possibly upgrading their manager. Liverpool for all their woes are only 2 points behind us now as well.

Wenger really made sure he brought the funnies in the post match presser:

“The score is a very unfair reflection of the game, but it is the score and we cannot change it now. I believe that Chelsea had absolutely everything for them today and we can only deal with that now and respond in our next game. Because first shot on goal, they scored. Second cross, they score. And after it was difficult. After, it was a turning point by the referee that I personally believe is not a serious decision. Very unfair. How can he see Eduardo kicking Cech when it was a Chelsea player who stops him from controlling the ball? The 2-1 was a very important goal in this kind of game, and that was a big mistake by the referee.”

Ah I see, Chelsea got all the luck and everything is so unfair.

“I believe I would rather have all of our players back. I am not in a mood tonight to say straight away after the game that I would buy players. We have to deal with the disappointment, and respond to that massive disappointment we had today and try to win our next game. It’s as simple as that.”

Oh goody, so same old spiel from the past 4 years.

“I do not think it’s over. I think we are fighters......The problem we have at the moment that we face is that people will not believe in us, so we have to make sure that lack of belief does not diminish our belief. And that’s where we have to be mentally stronger than we were until now

Heh at the first part and rollseyes at the second. Ah, those poor dears, no one believes in them and it hurts. It's what happens when you continually make excuses for their poor performances and nothing improves. Need proper footballers asap.

2006:
Squad isn't strong enough, doesn't have the mental reserves to beat the best, plus they are too injury-prone

2007:
Squad isn't strong or tall enough, doesn't have the mental reserves to beat the best, plus they are too injury-prone

2008:
Squad isn't strong or tall enough, doesn't have the mental reserves to beat the best, plus they are too injury-prone

2009:
Squad isn't strong or tall enough, doesn't have the mental reserves to beat the best, plus they are too injury-prone

Anyone dare to predict 2010?

This bit in particular annoys me. That's more of a reflection of Chelsea's vastly superior efficiency in front of goal and Arsenal's goalkeeper than it is of any kind of luck. Finishing is a part of the game fans and managers often don't want to acknowledge, claiming that they deserved victory after a defeat because their team controlled the play and had the most chances. It shouldn't happen, because finishing is the most important part of the game, and Chelsea are the best at it.

You can have our squad if you want (although two of them are on loan from you and one of them is about 12 and from Totenham)

From F365:

"It's quite amazing if you look at the number of shots against us from the beginning of the season, it's very minimal," Wenger announced on Friday. "We conceded those goals from only 36 shots against us. Sunderland had one shot on target." At half-time against Chelsea, that statistic had moved on to 17 goals conceded from 39 on-target shots, with eleven of those saves made by Vito Mannone against Fulham."

Not going to go all Ikki on your ass and claim that this proves anything, but it's certainly interesting.

That doesn't tell you the quality of chance they are creating. I'd wager we allow a far higher percentage of quality shot to total shots than most. Defensively we are rather brittle aside from Almunia.
