Great result for Staines againt today, managed the same score that we did against Millwall just a couple of weeks ago.

This is why you always come back to that thing about hope being the real desparation, if city had lost this match 3 or 4 nil after getting a smeller of a draw I wouldn't of been that upset, in fact i'd be over it in a couple of hours.

Now I'll be utterly shell-shocked and depressed for ages, utterly ****ing gutting.

In a way this isn't that bad imo. Well, obviously it is bad, because he is our main goal threat. However, this will pretty much force Wenger into buying a new striker or two in January, which with Van Persie only out for 3 months he may have tried sneak past without doing. Though I would rather have a fit Van Persie, I think the prospect of a new player coming in is better than that of trying to get by with what is currently available until Van Persie can return.
Heh.

Portsmouth played well today, but I can see why they're in such a hole this season- they just keep giving away goals. The two challenges that United got penalties for today were both definite fouls, but they were both so needless and innocuous that being given a penalty for them seemed somewhat bizarre. Portsmouth's defending wasn't especially bad in general, and they completely outplayed us in the first half, but they just kept finding a way to gift United an easy goal.

I thought Portsmouth's penalty was pretty justified on second viewing. You very, very rarely get given them but defenders really shouldn't be allowed to pull someone's shirt down to stop them from trying to win a header. It'd be a guaranteed foul anywhere else on the field.

Tomasz Kuszczak had a fully unbelievable game too, completely out of the blue.

Good set of results from an Arsenal point of view today, hopefully Everton will help keep up the trend tomorrow.
