Is channel 9 doing a highlights pack each night? (seems a forlorn hope, but worth asking?)
It'd be a really good idea for them to do that and put it on their GO! channel (which currently just shows the same episode of Frasier about 20 times a today) but I don't think the geniuses over there have thought of that yet.

Decent day of Test cricket, but so often we've seen Australia kick on at the Gabba and the tail help them get to over 500.

Putting on two and a half hours of Seinfeld tonight on Go instead it seems. Sport probably doesn't fit with the 'chicks/cheesy tv' concept they have for the channel 8-). Might write an email
and make some phone calls.

Yeah that's a great idea, One of the Nein channels should definitely show an hours highlights package each day.

A lot of people can't watch cos of work/school during the day. Would draw an audience - even if they stuck it on at 10:30pm instead of "Bizarre ER" as they have on tonight.

At the rate you are going, you will be boss of Ch 9 soon.

Was going to say the Windies have to bat yet before we get too excited about their performance in (potentially) restricting Australia. Still forget we don't have Warne and McGrath anymore. If we bowl like we did in England at times (i.e: very poorly) and the Windies can stop us scoring too many more then they're in with a decent chance.

I think Australia have too much already, but I'd still be delighted with the West Indian performance. Things didn't really drop their way, but they bowled really well against a quality batting lineup.

Windies still have to bat last on this pitch and anything over 200 on the 5th day at the Gabba is going to be difficult.

Still, no McGrath and Warne is a HUGE mental release for touring teams.

Australia all out for 422 tomorrow.

**** that - I'll just record all of tomorrow's play and fast forward all the ads, bowlers meandering back between deliveries, umpires getting together to compare farts and enjoy the two hours of cricket that actually occurs.

WI would've been a lot more competitive with Edwards a fully fit Taylor and Sarwan
Let me tell you guys something. this is the first time WI have got a 3rd fast bowler of real quality and finally an opening batsman in Adrian Barath of any real quality and more importantly they are really young 21 and 19. I think Instead of Benn they should get Nikita Miller but then Benn got Hussey and wasn't too expensive. Rampaul is just not test quality material. Plus I mean they could only improve from here. Can't be any worse than Darren powell and god knows the numerous partners Gayle has had. Plus we do still have some promising batsmen like Xavier Marshall, Lendl Simmons, Kieron Pollard coming through. Also I'm really looking forward to Pollard is a genuine all rounder in this test team. My team for the foreseeable future would be:

1.Gayle
2.Barath
3.Sarwan
4.Chanders
5.Nash/Pollard
6.Bravo
7.Ramdin
8.Benn/Miller
9.Taylor
10.Roach
11.Edwards

Now thats not a bad team at all. Bet that team could beat Pakistan, England, New Zealand and I would love it more than anything if they could beat India.

From the Roach article;

Asked about his dismissal of Ponting, the third highest run-scorer in Test history, Roach appeared decidedly unfazed. "We all know what Ricky's weakness is and I tried to exploit that," he said. "Today it worked."
haha, get the feeling Ponting will have heard that with great interest. If history is any guide, I'd say he's likely to go out of his way to put the hurt on Roach from now on. Going to be interesting watching them but you just never give a bloke like Ponting extra motivation.

Tell ya what, if being unable to play big seamers outside off-stump counts as a 'weakness'.....
