I remember watching Rocky Horror on C4 last night, and when I left the lounge (curtained @ around 10 something), being surprised as to actually how light it was outside. Obviously they're not going to be playing that late, but if the clouds are kind to us the late start shouldn't be a problem.Forecast is for morning showers tomorrow, then fine. Only 18 degrees though - 29 there today apparently!
I see they're sticking with the 12 noon start times...I know it stays light later down south, so it should be fine for Dunedin, but it caused some issues in other matches last season with bad light bringing an early end to play. I'd rather see them start at 11.
Bond's not the worst tailender, hes scored a first class century before, and I've no problem with two rabbits in O'Brien and Martin playing if they bowl well. At the end of the day the onus is on the batsmen to score the majority of the runs, so having bowlers who shouldn't contribute too much with the bat isn't really an issue IMO. Also wouldn't call Elliott in great form.Bond
OBrien
Martin
(thats a long tail)
Looking at the line-up it doesnt look overly great on quality but most of the fringe players seem in decent form (McIntosh, Flynn, Elliott). Hopeful of a rare test win here.
Yay, and its live on tv in Australia!Really sunny outside, no ominous clouds in sight. Had a bit of rain overnight but nothing serious.
Hmm, very theoretical. I don't know if Martin in particular is better than the opposition by enough to justify their horrific batting. Considering your best batsman plays at 8, a decent number 10 or 11 could make a big difference.Bond's not the worst tailender, hes scored a first class century before, and I've no problem with two rabbits in O'Brien and Martin playing if they bowl well. Would be surprised if either Tuffey or Patel played so agree with your line-up.
Don't think we should pick bowlers for their batting tbh. I've never been Martin's hugest fan, but he should be picked on bowling only.Hmm, very theoretical. I can bring you the exclusive news that we've just been hit by a tornado and University Oval has been torn out of the ground and is currently somewhere over the Pacific Ocean.NZ fans in Dunedin... How is weather right now? Any chance of match delay??
Awesome, sea cricket!I can bring you the exclusive news that we've just been hit by a tornado and University Oval has been torn out of the ground and is currently somewhere over the Pacific Ocean.
Picking bowlers exclusively for their bowling is a piece of cricketing wisdom that's gone too far for mine. Pick the team that's most likely to get you a win or, failing that, a draw. Lower order batting really helps the side.Don't think we should pick bowlers for their batting tbh. I've never been Martin's hugest fan, but he should be picked on bowling only.
Otherwise we'll end up with Dwayne Bowden or Brendon Diamanti in the test side.
