So ND have made short work of CD's target of 126 and are about to win.

Canterbury are well on top against Otago as well, with Fulton and Stewart both getting not out 50s.

Wellington and Auckland is not so clear cut yet, but Wellington are building a sizeable lead and there could still be time for a result if the rain stays away. Looks like Merchant is opening in place of Brodie for Wellington for some reason. Perhaps injury.

Yeah, Brodie did his hamstring in the first innings. Batted for a lot of the first innings with a runner. A shame given his good start to the season.

What a start to the season for ND, looking like the team to beat.

Cheeseman has paid to put him up the order to showcase his natural (Australian) talents which will guarantee him automatic selection into the BC's.

Easy win. Central Districts were never in the game with that bowling attack, I can't see them winning too much this season tbh.

I'm glad that our top order done the business and finished the match off, I think they'll prove a few people wrong this season. Our bowling attack though, wow. It could look like this if certain people aren't playing for the BC's:

Arnel/Southee (One of them will always be here this season I suspect)
Boult
Aldridge
Scott
Yovich

Easy points  We also have the likes of Martin and Davis on the bench, both of whom would work straight into some other teams attacks.

Good to see Nethula pick up two wickets. The chances of him playing Pakistan in the test series are pretty slim, but it's good to see him show the selectors he can bowl to players of top quality.

This thread's gone quite all of a sudden.

So in the end the NZ invitational bowlers shared the wickets around and just looking at the scorecard it's hard to tell who bowled the best.
Tuffey economical but his wickets were tail-enders.
Southee started well with two economical top order wickets but then was hit around in his later spells.
O'Brien started poorly and was reasonably expensive but came back and picked up two wickets.

Chance number 2 for the batsmen to impress then.

Well there goes Cumming's chance at starting the first test you'd imagine. Chance for Flynn and McIntosh to cement places beyond any doubt.

Regarding Nethula, promising to see him take two middle order Pakistani wickets but 61 runs off eight overs is a bit concerning.

good to see T Boult coming back well after his injury, really like the look of this guy from what I seen of him during the u19 world cup.

What impressed you about him?

Like you say good on him, considering his back injury.

Good pace, good accuracy for someone his age and pace ( don't think I have seen a score card where he has been hammered ), he also seemed to bowl a good yorker, got nice and close to the stumps. Of course this is just going on about 10 overs of limited over cricket in u19's that I watched.

I love Boult. Then again, I am a sucker for left arm swing bowlers for some reason.

Does he still wear his ninja headband? :p

Well neither of the Boult's are playing this round due to injury - perhaps the younger one will wear the head band from the stands?

What's up with Raval missing the cut this round?

No McClenenenengan or Davis and not sure where Sherlock has gone - poor old Watson will be beside himself.

So that's pretty much the news.
