Anton Devcich batting at three with James Marshall at four doesn't help your argument.

Auckland's batting in this game is very strong. Raval at 7 is incredible depth.

I like Wellington's batting lineup too.

On paper CD's lineup is probably the best but runs arent scored on paper.

I haven't claimed anything other than they're the best line up on paper, and generally the best batting on field.

Aucklands in this game, especially with a quality import like Bopara, is very good.

Wilson isn't crash hot, Michael Parlane is known to be a bit of a flat track bully, Flynn will be away playing tests, Marshall is Marshall and McGlashan isn't what he his in ODs.

Flynn's only going to miss a month at most for the BC's this summer, he wont be playing to much cricket for New Zealand this summer imo.

Wilson averaged over 40 last season, he's one of our better opening batsmen.

Active domestic topic today, given me five pages to read through!

Disappointing to see the NZ Invitation top order fall apart, especially first test candidates Cumming and McIntosh, and even Elliott who must've been pushing for a place had he produced an innings of substance. Flynn might have an issue on 49 but at least hes scoring runs, and Reece Young's half century should give him some confidence.

Ross Taylor's scoring well for CD too, a 120 run partnership with Sinclair bringing some respectability to the Central batting effort.

Here's an interesting statistic - Martin finished on 10* and its the first time hes made double figures in a first class/one day/T20 match since January 2008 (when he made 12* vs Bangladesh).

Listening to Radiosport he didn't seem that impressed at the decision to give him out apparently. Incidentally it was McGlashan's tenth catch of the match, equalling the New Zealand first class record for most catches in a match (with Nevin and Hopkins).

I wouldn't be writting Elliot off completely but hes hardly set the world alight in his three innings in New Zealand this summer, nor does he have the flashest test record (in fact Ian O'Brien nearly averages higher). The way Fulton's going I wouldn't mind playing him in the middle order instead.

And McGlashan now has the record for most catches in a New Zealand first class match with Patton caught behind off Scott for a duck.

Ten was the record. Surprised its that low too, even more so that ten was a relatively recent record set with Nevin and Hopkins the previous holders.
