India play no more Tests after this until the end of 2010 (except 2 Tests in Bangladesh in January). Such a disgrace. And very highly annoying. Why can't we have a season like England? How a side like India, where everyone would play you if you asked, goes almost a whole year without Tests is beyond me.

SRT did voice his dissapointment on this. Just 5 tests matches in a year is crap!

I don't agree with what the radio folks are saying, that Gambhir should have been dropped for Murali Vijay. Fair, Gambhir has played more 50-over cricket than 4-day games. Fair, the Indian team got battered in the last ODI series. Fair, his own form has (possibly) consequently been affected. But he's a part of the starting lineup for a reason and that should be respected. There have been far too many changes to the core group, and a whole lot of exclusions have weakened the team. It had to stop.

What a start to the series! Just checked the score and was shocked. Funny that India are still ripping along at 4 an over too.

Sri Lanka must have been worried with Kulasekara and Thushura injured, but how things change.

Their logic was that Murali Vijay played more FC cricket, and he was in sublime form then. On the other hand, Gambhir played excessive limited-overs cricket, so adjusting to the Test game would be tough, as it showed when he was out for just one.
