Ignore feature may be needed for those of us that want to talk about the cricket, I feel:wacko:

50 for Trott. Nice innings. If we were chasing a normal total this would have been a good innings. Pietersen's looked in good touch considering he's not played since The Ashes as well. Just hope Trott opens in the ODi's now. If the 2nd best OD player in England doesn't play, in favour of Denly or Cook then something will be seriously wrong with our selectors.

"Well that's Englands chances of winning pretty much gone now."

What? Nothing to do with the fact we need >6 runs a ball?

Suppose so. But I struggle to blame the batters for this one when our 'attack' conceded 241.
Can't blame the batters, but would've been better to have actually had a go at the total, rather than limp to a 80 run loss. It's not been an entertaining chase, which isn't good for English cricket.

More cultured batting from Luke Wright. He just oozes class.

Not that bothered about this batting display tbh. We were never going to win the game after that atrocious bowling performance, so it was just about letting a few guys find some form. Trott got a few runs and should have guaranteed himself a place in the ODi squad, and KP found abit of form as well. We were never going to recover from the bowling, and I'd rather have seen this than try and slog and end up 90 all out.

Well it was much the selectors as anything. Denly shouldn't be playing in T20 or ODIs. Cook shouldn't be allowed anywhere near T20, though he may work out as a ODI bat - will just have to wait and see. Truly horrible selections. Rashid shouldn't be playing limited overs stuff - I don't see what good it does when he's desperately needed AS A TEST BOWLER and you're teaching him to get smashed and bowl flat non-turning rubbish. Then you've got Prior and Mahmood... no explanation needed.

Yup, that's my take on it as well. Alternatively, I'd have been OK with Denly & Cook doing a Gavaskar and finishing on 12 not out. But then again I'm not watching the game.

Oh absolutely. btw do you know why Sidebottom didn't play? Not saying he'd have won us the game, but having two proper bowlers wouldn't have done any harm.

Perhaps that's the culture difference, I'd always rather see my team trying to win - like in the Champions Trophy, we lost, but it was a really good effort/entertaining chase.

Propose Luke Wright is now known as 'Gash' Wright. A catchy name that perfectly illustrates his inability to play cricket (something previously often required for International cricket)
