Disappointed for Holland and McDonald, not so much for ****ley.

It's really not a Vic vs NSW thing either.

Whatever it takes!!!
Clearly the man you are looking for is Jason Krejza. He's been batting as high as 7 recently for Tassie and has been bowling very tidy spells recently.
yeah, but they may not like to have 2 specialist offies, and no matter how high he has been batting, they will still look at him as a bowler-batsman and not the other way around, right?

FFS. For the first time I had everything set up to sit down with some beers to watch this; had an exam today so I wouldn't feel bad about not doing anything tonight, and my next one isn't till next week anyway. And it's freaking raining. Lame.

The rain has finally let up. Even if it doesn't return, I don't think they'll get the ground drained off all that water in time.

Yeah that's correct. Isn't that the exact type of player you were wanting?

If you want a spin bowling all rounder Krejza is your man. If you want a White clone, look out for Steve Smith.

Game called off, Watto named man of the series. Would've been tempted to give it to Huss personally, Watto didn't really do much for the first few games. Whatever.

Watto and Hussey the only two viable MOTS, but I think Watson is fair enough. He's the top wicket-taker on both sides for the series, let alone the fact that he's averaged over 40 with the bat. There's good batsmen on both sides, but I think there's a good argument for Watson as being the biggest difference between the two sides.

The Watto fans are going to be even more annoying now that he's got some performances under his belt :p

Being one of them myself, I'd point out that he's been putting impressive ODI performances under his belt since Oct 06. :p

(49 matches, 1670 runs @ 46.3, 55 wickets @ 25.0)

yeah.. but I was trying to convey that the selectors may not be sold on his batting yet... esp. as an international number 7. My bad that I ended up making it look as if I was sprouting out inconsistent theories.. :)

He is much better technically & way better test prospect. But in the role of a middle order hitter - White wins.
Why? Ferguson's got a better strike rate than White in ODIs and List A games. What's the point of a hitter if he scores more slowly (and significantly less) than a non-hitter?

Reckon White is a much better bet up the order than Ferguson. He's shown for a long time at different levels of cricket a hunger to make large innings'. Ferguson is more suited to scoring from first ball onwards, is very busy and really is a better fit to bat @ 6 in one day games.

Thats just stats man. Ferguson can't do what White did in the 5th ODI vs IND. If my memory is correct also i don't think i've even seen Ferguson hit a 6 yet.

Ferguson in the last few months with all the injuries was sort of doing Hussey's role @ 6. So with Hussey now back in form Ferguson aint that needed IMO. White as said before is basically brings back that power play to the middle order, now that Symonds is gone.

Congratulations to Australia for winning the series quite convincingly with a virtually second XI. I think this series has brought back Hussey the reliable, and Watson the destroyer. I also think that it is time Australia looked beyond Clarke in the ODI setup. I do not mean any offence to Clarke but he is a bit slow and White or Ferguson can do a much better job than him. Ponting also showed good consistent form in the series and I am really happy about that. Now they have relatively lower rated opponents to face in the summer and with this form I can predict Australia will comfortably whitewash West Indies and Pakistan.
