*Official* English Football Season 2009-2010

Hmm. Bit misleading, IMHO. We've already won at Everton & Fulham (fifth and seventh last year, respectively) who're in 11th and 12th currently but both of whom I'd take to finish above Burnley & Stoke who're in the top half as of now.
That's fair, and TBH I think you'll destroy Burnley and Stoke on current form as well. I just reckon that we'll learn more about Arsenal's credentials (as we will many sides) once they've been tested a little more often.

We had a brutal start to the season especially with the CL qualifiers and ave come out very well. Beating the teams you're meant to beat isn't a bad thing either. In fact it's something we've been failing miserably at for the past few seasons, it's what you build title challenges on.
Not a bad thing at all, and I certainly am not saying that putting lesser teams to the sword is a negative. In fact, I'd like my own team to try it once or twice at some point this season. :p

Got Chelsea on the 29th of this month which is shaping up to be a big one.
All our games against tough opposition (United, Chelsea, Liverpool) are out of the way by Feb/March IIRC. Completely different from last season. Definitely in with a shout.

They're only tough for United these days. Reckon you'll spank them.

No better endorsement of the squad than that,.
Ha ok smart ass

Not fit enough yet - assuming he stays injury free he's a certainty to go to the World Cup.
Why is he not fit enough yet for next week's friendly?

If looking solid includes conceding lots of goals, some of which he shouldn't have let in then yes you have a point.
I presume you are refering to the Chelsea game where he did indeed let in a few he could have stopped. But he looked good in the second half of that game & vs United last week. Why i would pick him he seems now to gaining back some level of solidity & confidence that was obvious shattered since that dark night in Zagreb.

Why exactly? Warnock has been playing well for a long time - Gibbs has barely played and is only in now because of an injury.
Warnock is not internation quality. Gibbs is the future, being involved in this friendly would be great for him - although Bridge will obviously start.

Who's missing that should be ahead of him?.
No one. Jenas just shouldn't be near the national side.

Could you translate this point into English please - doesn't make sense.
Well as i mentioned earlier. Capello places strong emphasis on players playing 90 minutes very regularly (although this doesn't apply to Heskey), which for some selections is a bit too extreme for me. i.e Owen

Lescott nor Cahill are not international quality - Woodgate is. But he obviously wont pick Woodgate yet because of injury record & given he has just returned for Spurs this season. He will want to see him play a good 10-15 games before given him a recall. So for now its understanable why Lescott/Cahill continue to be picked.

He's good enough to be in the squad but I don't think he should until he can at least establish himself in our rotation. Believe in paying your dues tbh and on that criteria Warnock should be the next backup. Kieran will get plenty of caps later on.

Generally enjoy wathing the EPL and see quite a bit of it - we get every match of the season live here

However, I really cannot stand the whinging that occurs whenever a decision goes against a team and the abuse of referees (many players make the average Aussie cricketer look like an angel)

I'd love to see a ref smack one of the so-called "hard men" (sorry, but the use of that term to describe someone who kicks another man really cracks me up) in the mouth the next time they receive a gob-ful

Failing that, start sending people off ffs!

Swearing at officials went out in the dark ages in virtually every other sport so why they put up with it in football, **** only knows

You don't luck your way to a five-point advantage in the Premier League, if people want to talk down Chelsea that's fine I'm pretty sure plenty did the same when Mourinho's team went ahead in the 04-05 season.

You wouldn't believe how much better we are when Anderson plays. Actually, if you watched us against Liverpool and again today, you probably would believe it.
He played last year when you lost 4-1 TBH.

Also think you're wrong about Rooney. He is clearly world-class. Maybe not as good as Torres and Drogba, who are somewhat different anyway, but still world-class. Unless you define world-class as being in the top 5 forwards in the world or something.

You clearly do though when it's only November and they've looked **** in pretty much every game bar two that I can think of, one of which was against a truely woeful Blackburn.

Additionally the five point advantage thing is a bit misleading given Arsenal have a game in hand.

I'll go back to my Mourinho analogy - everyone said they weren't much cop then. It's a results business and they are getting them, week after week. Everyone has said how unlucky United were yesterday yet at no point did I actually feel like your lot were going to score and Chelsea were, IMO, always the more likely team to take it. I'd back them to beat any English side at the minute. 'Looking ****' means nothing, I thought United l'ooked ****' last season but they were still the best team, quite comfortably.

Yeah fair enough
