It's a shame Fidel has not managed to regain his fitness ahead of this Australia tour, his pace and fire would certainly have caused one or two problems for the Aussie batsmen, if not consistently, then I'm sure he'd have delivered a few tasty spells.
I'm surprised Lendl Simmons has been thrown aside already, he showed enough promise against England to suggest he should be persevered with, but apparently not.
Are there any spinners mentioned in this thread that are seriously good enough to trouble the Australia side ? The likes of Ponting, Hussey, Clarke etc, do play spin very well and I would question that unless it is an absolute turner, is there is a necessity for a specialist spinner to be selected at all. By selecting an extra batsmen it gives the line-up a bit more depth, and the likes of Gayle, Nash (could have used Simmons or Hinds.R. also) etc could be used a little more as part-timers.
