**Official** New Zealand v Pakistan in UAE

Stapel

International Regular
288 for NZ to win. I think it's a good batting track. We should be clouded by the fact Pakistan lost 2 very early wickets and thus proceeded cautiously. Paks recovered very well.

But if NZ bat sensibly, it should be an interesting chase!

Kami's a great finisher. Still remember him coming in at 49.3 against WI and hitting three sixes. Happy with the total tbh, especially considering the horrendous start.

Vettori 10 for 34 (2W)

Butler/NcCullum 10 for 83 (1W)

Southee and Bond went alright, could've bowled better at the death but by then Pakistan were already going for it. Oram was average, leaked a few runs but he not too much to whinge about. But Butler and NcCullum just completely gave the game to Pakistan.

Afridi has to be the most frustrating player in the world, 1 in 10 times his risks come off to do something like this.

Let them have?

Give Pakistan some credit mate. They batted bloody well at times.
Think if we managed to suffocate Afridi early on they would have scored far far less. Akmal was pretty fantastic at the end there but he was launching from a platform that Afridi's onslaught set.

I'd like to know why Vettori took himself of when Afridi got going.

Think it was a bit uncharacteristic of him tbh. Usually if he ever makes it to 70 odd it means he got there with 10+ boundaries. This was much more controlled. Besides, he's a 1 in 5 player these days.

The controlled part didn't bother me, it was the sixes. Those horrible glorious sixes. :(

Khalid Latif must have been painful to watch?

Edit: And Afridi in slow batting shocker!
