lol.. sorry guys.. will let it go with Social.. I think he is stupid as far as his views on this series are concerned and that's that.
HB, is this a new wicket square? Thought I heard one of the comms mention that earlier. If it is, how long has it been down for.?

Funny how you never react when Social does the same in every other thread.
Having a joke with Jono mate.

Check out the Australian politics thread. Pretty fair to say Social and I don't always see eye to eye :)

it has been relaid and it has been more than a year now.. Obviously taking its own sweet time to settle down... Hopefully, it quickens up in the next few months with a lot of Ranji and other domestic games to be played there.. Would be a nightmare if the wicket continues to be like this when the IPL circus comes aroound..

BTW, I actually like seeing ODI cricket on a wicket you cannot go crash, bang and wallop... I think even Hauritz and Voges will find this a very good wicket to bowl on and Cameron White SHOULD get a few overs in here.. He is not exactly any good in taking wickets but I still think he can bowl a decent line and length for a leggie... Should be tried. And is David Hussey in the squad? Why is he not playing?

Yeah I agree with that. DOn't personally see what's wrong with a slow wicket - they can sometimes make for lower totals first up, and therefore closer contests. Brings the workers of the ball into play more.

No worries mate, I'm likely a bit out there after a win today and several beers :).

Can't believe the differnece in Hussey's ODI assuredness the past 12 months or so and his ****iness in tests. Looks a completely different player.

The guy is class against spin.. Funny how contrary to almost everyone's then opinion, it is really fast bowling that has "found him out" , so to speak, in the recent series in tests...

Should have taken the powerplay while they still had two set bats. They are going to slog the **** out of it in the last 5 regardless.

Great over from Jadeja there. 2 runs and wicket off the 47th with the PP in operation is high-quality stuff.

7 off the first three balls of Nehra's tho. Make that 7 off 4; fourth right in Mitch's blockhole.

EDIT: three dots off the last three. Good comeback from the bowler.

Sehwags the biggest factor here. If it goes right for him the pitch becomes irrelevant. Need something big from him imo.

Hard to say. Think Oz have a workable total, but it's the slow bowlers who've shone for India. A lot rests on Hauritz & White and maybe Voges, even. India favourites IMHO.
Think that's right. Yuvraj bowled well tonight too.

Henriques looked busy enough out there without being exceptional. Disappointed in his dismissal though.

runs

based on the aus bowling attack i think 229 is not enough. india will get there with 4-5 wicket to spare

I know it looks like hindsight, but IMO this is clearly not Sehwag's pitch, and I don't see him dominating on it. He's managed to stay in right now, but the pitch is far too slow for his liking.

Hopefully he doesn't get frustrated and throw it away.

Still can't believe Australia were 3+ on Cricinfo's favourite bookie after 3-4 overs.

If you ignore the runs and see how Australia's innings went, big opening partnership, a very skilful batsman at 3 batting through the second half of the innings. You'd have to think they'd set a pretty decent total for the pitch even if it isn't a completely dominant one.
