No, but Praveen was in the team in order to create a strategy of three pace bowlers, two spinners and hence, five bowlers - a strategy which I disagree with in Indian conditions. This is a policy which requires that your bowlers each perform at a high level in order to justify their selection over a specialist batsman combined with the effect of a part timer. Perhaps more than one ODI should have been given for a player, even in this situation, but when you are trialling an unusual strategy, you must be willing to abandon it, in the name of pragmatism.
As it turns out, I was pretty much wrong in all of my selectorial comments regarding this series, so far, and so I'll happily retract anything negative I have said about the inclusion of either Praveen or Ishant, who is looking more like his old self than before, cranking up the pace and bowling good lines.
