*Official* Australia in India - ODIs

Interesting that Ponting's going for Watson and Hilfenhaus at the death. I suppose he doesn't have many options though.
Tbh, this is an awesome wicket to bat on and no matter who he might have chosen to bowl at the death the result would have been no different, and I guess likes of Lee and Hopes would be happy they are not playing here.
Anyways, dew or no dew, can't see this target being overhauled, its probably convenient to say this now, but don't think it was a smart move to bowl first just because of the dew factor.

You don't look like a tosser at all Manee. Great rotation of the strike as you sau and then some awesome hitting in the end. Another great ODI inning by Dhoni.

Whatever it takes!!!

Conspiracy theory time?

Siddle really the only one looked the goods at all here. Comes back and immediately bowls 3 of the 5 decent yorkers in the innings in his last over.

Great knock Dhoni there. Superb hundred that. Haven't seen many better in an ODI tbh.
chk previous threads... fact that an ICC Match Referee openly came out and told that different standards need to be applied for teams like Australia and South Africa than the other teams made matters pretty clear, I thought.. 8-)

If nothing else is to come of this, we should hopefully begin to see less of Huffenpuff in future ODI teams....
I feel he has potential to be a good OD bowler, but seriously one can't expect him to come into the team without having played any cricket for months and start delivering against a brutal batting side on a flat track.

Great stuff by India, but really not surprised by India knocking up a big score; depleted bowling line-up, and those picked as replacements not really the best choice. Not making excuses though, what little I saw of the Indian innings was very good. If the openers (Watson and Marsh? Paine and Marsh?) get us off to a good start, we could be in with a game, but I very much doubt we've got any real chance here. Australia have kinda struggled to keep up the pace when chasing any decent (280+) score recently. Heavily tipping the Indians to level the series.

Writing my Chinese oral for tomorrow though so I'll be following the Aussie innings for a fair while yet, let's see what happens :)

I still can't believe someone openly said that.

Was bizarre tstl from anyone, let alone a referee.

The fact one idiot says it doesn't make it the case though.
Good morning.

Shaun Pollock was over appealing horribly against India. Yet 5 Indians were fined in the match in South Africa.

You you have seen Bucknor speak to Parthiv Patel with contempt. It didn't happen versus a Geraint Jones.

Biases can't be ruled out.

Great performance by India. Gambhir continues to be India's best batsman and Dhoni produced one of his best performances. Dhoni's innings was really intelligent and his partnership with Gambhir and Raina were incredible.

Raina as well produced a great innings after I was getting frustrated with his inability to hit the ball at the start of his innings. The entire innings was just great to watch.

I think Australia have got some problems with their death bowling. Mitch, Hilfenhaus and Watson are pretty poor death bowlers and it only seemed that Siddle was the one who was bowling with any real purpose towards the end.

India's bowling is likely to be poor as well so I expect Australia to get at least 280 but I hope that at least with 354 on the board the Indian bowlers don't mess things up.

What happened to shane watson's bowling? he looked good for the first 3-4 overs of the series, from then its 10 runs / over. Any injury concerns with him you guys reckon?

i have him as my captain on the fantasy team .. sigh.

@ Sirj - I don't know about that really.

Bucknor has given a lot of harsh decisions against India but my referring to him and not any other umpire is just coincidence. I referred to the Shaun Pollock incident as well and Bucknor sure wasn't standing there that time or was the referee. I think Mike Denness was but I didn't recall him at the tip of my fingers, so didn't mention his name.
