Klinger proving the selectors right with a globe, although I would have to say he should have been there from the start, no Borgas for me. redbacks 2 for 0.

As a Redbacks fan I do not like Manou batting at 4, don't see what he's doing there.

Easy to say in hindsight but I wouldn't have opened with Klinger. Send out Cosgrove with Mass first and if one of them gets out early, Kling at 3 to shore up the innings.

I bet the decision against Klinger was dodgy, giving a further touch of poetry. Don't mind Manou at 4, though. He's a decent counter-attacker and there's enough sloggers down the order for quick runs later.

My man Simpson!

no run, OUT, drives hard and gets an edge for Simpson at 1st slip to take a brilliant catch!! The ball flew away fast, Simpson falls to his right and plucks the ball one-handed, great catch!
BTW, I am way more happy with the QLD batting lineup today. Hartley opening should be good, hopefully he doesn't get too boged down, can be a slow starter at times.

Yea that catch was a ripper.
Yes topcat the Klinger lbw looked dodgy on the replay, as well as harris's dismissal.

I think Manou is ok at 4, but I think when you have young batsmen in the team with great records and top talent, i think you have to get them in early and let them shape the game. Cooper averaged ~60 in the top 3 last year, and is moved down. Borgas not so much a good record, I can see him lower as a hitter.

McDermott to Cooper, no run, Big play and miss. It was full enough to drive but it swung away late. Beautiful bowling.

Could have been written in 1991 about his Dad word-for-word (especially if the opposition had a player named Cooper in it).

Haven't seen Alister in action, myself. I know from photos he certainly looks like Craig. Is he really similar?

If there's one thing that you can guarantee about the SA team, though, is that regardless of the success of the team or individuals, players will be moved randomly about the batting order for no apparent reason.

EDIT: Shaun Tait to open the batting next game.

excellently put, completely agree, can be baffling at times

Haha, the usual SA collapse happening now. Just like Tas did the other day and teams have been doing for years; tuck the batters up, watch for a few balls as the sweat beads start to appear then throw in the loose one, get out shot to follow.

Gotta agree with this. D Harris and Klinger opening together to me seems a bit samey - Cosgrove opening has been successful in the past and Klinger is just as gooder option at 3. Although he has scored a truckload of runs opening in domestic OD cricket.

FTR, can't believe he was ever left out in the first place. Also, he seems like the kind of cricketer who needs a bit more TLC than others (see the way he had the arms put around him when he got to SA from Victoria, and was successful because of it). He was always the fall guy for the Vics, hope the doubts don't creep back into his game because of a massive selection bungle.

Pleasing to see there's been a bit of fight in the QLD team so far this season. Fingers crossed Walter gets a few more chances to if he's bowling well.

Oh Dire! Our strike bowler is built like a bus

Looks like the SACA policy of only picking Tall bowlers at junior level is reaping rewards-a-plenty!

Went in for the 2nd innings last night and it was quite enjoyable. Tait was pathetic! He had no control and got owned by Hartley. On the other Hand, his opening partner George was fantastic. It's the first time I've seen him and he was very impressive.

Hartley was fantastic at the top of the order had a good mix of attack and defense and combined well with Broad. Disappointing to see us lose wickets at the end, but getting the bonus point should be beneficial.

I reckon we have a very promising bowling attack this season considering we had 3 top line bowlers out through injury.
