Well unless QLD has a miraculous season that noone expects, my support will be thrown behind the West Aussies this time around. They pretty much are all QLDers anyway.

There was an article on CI that suggested Reardon wouldn't be playing.

"During their first four-day game, which starts at the WACA on Tuesday, the top six is expected to read Ryan Broad, Nick Kruger, Greg Moller, Lee Carseldine, Glen Batticciotto and Chris Hartley. There is not much fear for interstate bowlers there and it is something Barsby acknowledges."

Yeah I read that article a day after I named my team. Reardon has made the squad of 13 so he's still in with a bit of a chance, also it looks like Swan and Hopes are injured too.

We might end up having Cutting, Rimmington, Laughlin and Doran as our bowling attack.

Yeh, it's a heck of a turnaround that so many players have headed west when historically, the WACA has been pretty successful at turning away outside talent and alienating it's best players in incredibly public ways.

A quickly organised tipping comp if anyone is interested. Will last all season and include all formats.

Pretty simple. Pick a winner (2 points) Highest run scorer, in Shield games most runs over both innings (5 points) and most wickets (5 points) if wickets are tied between two bowlers, both bowlers count.

First game today: W.A. v QLD (Ford Ranger)
