Can't stand the commentary when Tendulkar's batting. Because he's a great, people see greatnesss in everything he does. Smacks a short wide one for four and the commentators rave about how majestic and wonderful it was. Takes so much enjoyment out of watching the guy bat.
enjoy the shot!

Which is why, I have the commentary on mute. I can't stand commentators most of the times. I try to analyze the game on my own and the commentators usually talk drivel which diverts my concentration from the game at hand.

Yeah, I remember you saying. But I like being able to hear what's going on while I'm posting etc.

Wonder how Dravid will play here.

Had a feeling Aamer will get Tendulkar. Some how Tendulkar manages to get out to new bowlers a lot.

I didn't see the first innings but there seems to be decent bounce and movement on this pitch; how on earth did India allow a 300+ score?

The fast bowlers did the job after Pakistan got off to a quick start to get 3 wickets. Then, the spinners were toothless.

I don't think the wicket is as toothless as the commentators are saying. Aaamer has troubled the batsmen with his bounce though he has bowled too many four balls along with it. And while there isn't a whole lot of movement you did see a bit of late swing from Rana Naved against Tendulkar as well some movement on the delivery that got him.

Presumably there isn't much in it for the spinners which is good news for India.

This is the third time the pitch is being used. Wasim Akram said during the pitch report that this is a grave yard for fast bowlers and every one is latching on to that. Obviously India who have picked three seamers don't agree. There obviously is some thing in it for the faster bowlers if you bowl well. Also swing, as you mentioned, is not absent. Also some thing was said on the lines that it will assist the spinners, which we haven't seen much of. There has been a bit of turn but very little grip. It was made out that it will turn square in the second inning and the team batting second would be in real trouble.

Nehra meanwhile differed in the view. In his interview, he said it was slow early on but is coming on nicely later (while India was bowling) which is good to hit shots. It is good to hit shots but it is also good for edges to be taken and be carried IMO.

It's a good cricket wicket IMO which could have been better with more assistance to the spinners.

Anyway this is a terrific knock from Gambhir who has single-handedly brought India back in the game. But looking at that batting line-up and you can't feel too confident especially when you remember what a sitting duck Raina was against bounce in the TT cup. If Gambhir gets out the game will change instantly.

Gambhir has improved tremendously as a player, going from strength to strength. Not a surprise that he has played an inning like this and won't surprise me if he even manages to get a century. For India to win though, both Dravid and Gambhir have to have a big partnership because there is not much else after this. India needs a miracle to win, as I said during the break.

Yeah complete crap and I am sure the run-rate will drop like a stone now. Let's see if they get Aamer back and try to bounce Raina.

They send Kohli. Haven't seen much of him but he does have an impressive List A record. A big opportunity for him.
