That was a ripper from van der Merwe...
Yep, agree with this too. Responsibility seems to sit on McCullum like a tonne of bricks around his neck, rather than inspiring him to better performances. The problem with McCullum is that he's become a key player for New Zealand. When he was just the wicket keeper he could bat with a lot of freedom knowing that any runs he made were a bonus. Now he feels like his contribution is crucial and plays more carefully, but he doesn't have the concentration or the defensive ability for a long innings so he just ends up scoring the same number of runs anyway but in a longer time. Moving him down the order might work, but I think he just needs to be given free rein.
He is trying to fetch a wicket or two here....good thinking by Smith here!Odd decision to take the spinners off.
I find it funny that Elliott is South African, yet is the most traditional NZ-style one day player in the team. Looks innocuous, nudges the ball around bowls dibbly dobblies. What a champ. This is pathetic.
No wonder why SAF were not interested in Elliott...
Haha 4...4...1Thats four...Albie's legs touched the ropes...
Looks the goods doesn't he? Shame a full strength Asif wasn't able to compliment him.Yesterday Aamir was bowling similar speeds as Steyn is bowling today quite excited about the young lad
Na as long as we keep ticking a long at this pace I'm sure he will be good.Taylor 29 from 71. Full credit to him and all for not reverting to the slog sweep, but this is not a test match and that strike rate is no good. Perhaps he's demonstrating why he often reverts to the slog sweep when runs are hard to come by.
Asif may not reach full strength anytiime soon saw him bowling live in a couple of club games just 10 days back was looking ver very rusty.Looks the goods doesn't he? Shame a full strength Asif wasn't able to compliment him.
A shame because Pakistan would have been the best attack if they were full strength or very close to it.Asif may not reach full strength anytiime soon saw him bowling live in a couple of club games just 10 days back was looking ver very rusty.
The ball really is turning a hell of a long way, so it can't be easy to keep ticking it over. He just seems to be having an off day - has hit so many balls straight to fielders that he'd normally take singles off.Taylor 29 from 71.
