India shot down Test championship

Oh yeah, how many times has australia been to the subcontinent (minus India) in the last decade? Compare that with their tours to NZ, SA, Eng, WI, Zim.
One tour of Bangladesh and two tours of Sri Lanka (99/00 and 2004). Did Cricket Australia write the FTP up?

Big bank take little bank.............. India will pay the price .. you can believe that...

The FTP is drawn up post consultations & negotiations between the boards of various countries. CA influences what tours are drawn up and suggests changes. Here is an instance of Australia changing its FTP.
The Hindu : Sport / Cricket : FTP put off at CA’s request
So anyone has any idea now as to what will happen after this test championship idea failed? Will the FTP go on as it is from 2012 onwards too? Are we still going to play each other within 8 months like India and Australia played each other twice, home and away in 2008?

The planning certainly needs an overhaul or else things might get too boring.

And these 7 match ODI series certainly need to be in the bin. It is overkill. And Australia is the main culprit in starting this where teams had to play as many as 10 ODIs after the test series in Vb series and CB series!

Whatever it takes!!!

Indeed.. There was a point when that annual tri series in Australia had 15 round robin games plus best of 3 finals!!!!!!!!!

I have always wanted to know sirdj, who did you come to Australia to study since you don't seem to like this place or it's cricket team etc?

There are five countries compared to three - one of which no one will tour for very good reasons.

Read the FTP whichever way you like, see how many times each individual country was visited and compare that to the subcontinent tours. The war on terror started in october 2001, any reasons why Pakistan was not popular before that?

You realize that every Test match would be part of the championship? The two teams with the most points at the end of the specified period would simply play an additional series to determine the winner?

Because they had toured 3 years earlier?

I always thought cricket would be relatively safe from terrorism.. this notion was rocked when the Sri Lankan team was attacked... luckily for both parties no awful tragedies. I wouldn't be surprised if no one ever tours Pakistan again. if that's what the terrorist wanted to achieve.. then they've succeeded. it gives the FTP a whole new feel from 2012 onwards..

What angered me about Pakistan was that the New Zealand team toured Pakistan 6 months after 9/11 like they promised they would (since it had been postponed) and come the Tests, nobody was there, except for the ODIs. I though the cricket fans would appreciate a team holding up it's word and touring. Or do people in the big cities of Pakistan not care about Test cricket?

Some of the restrictions by the ******** PCB means people stay away from test cricket especially in the big cities, you cant bring your own food and then you hav to buy some low quality food at high prices from the ground which later gives you stomach problems aswell and not to forget the countless security checks one has to go through. I have attended a test match once in Karachi and trust me it was not a pleasent exp.
