*Official* Compaq Cup 2009 in Sri Lanka

Ummm....what the hell? Virtually every International they play barring Bang & Zim their bowlers face superior batting...no clue what you mean by this. It was only 6-7 months ago they (minus Bond) were tested against the Indian batting lineup.
I've used the current Sri Lankan team here as a reference. They're hardly a superior batting side. I'd say Australia, India, South Africa and possibly Pakistan are superior.

Sri Lanka eleven ST Jayasuriya, TM Dilshan, KC Sangakkara*†, DPMD Jayawardene, TT Samaraweera, SHT Kandamby, AD Mathews, KMDN Kulasekara, T Thushara, SL Malinga, BAW Mendis

New Zealand eleven BB McCullum†, JD Ryder, MJ Guptill, LRPL Taylor, GD Elliott, JDP Oram, DL Vettori*, NL McCullum, IG Butler, SE Bond, DR Tuffey

Im happy with that NZ lineup. Good choice with Nath McCullum, bowling attack looks strong.

No Mills and Broom?
I can understand N-Mac for Broom, but I thought Tuffey was on his way home?
Not a bad team, but I wasn't expecting it.

Damn it #$%!

As they say, win the toss in Colombo, bat first & win the game.

NZ will need a pretty spectacular start with the ball.

NZ- Seven bowling options? That's quite a lot. I don't know much about Broom, but an extra batsman would be useful. Besides, McCullum bats better without WK duties, so the key will be to skittle out or stifle the Lankans for a low score. I can't watch the match right now, maybe in a few minutes, but on a pitch that favours the bowlers, they'll have a chance.

SL- That batting, despite seven proper batsmen, still looks thin. They'll depend a lot on one to four, as five, six and seven can't do much. They have a strong bottom four/five, but they've underperformed. Their bowling is still strong.

Tuffey!!! Awesome.

Please tell me that Mills is injured rather than that he's been dropped. Massive wtf if he was dropped.

Haha, forgot Tuffey was a first over specialist !

Serves Dishan right, rubbish bating, almost did it 3 times in that over

Early indications that the pitch is really slow; mind you those deliveries from Tuffey were all way too close to cut.

Dropped IMO & not that massive, Mills was at his best about 18 months ago, but has been decidedly shaky since then.

Who could forget his nightmare against India
