I meant Strauss. Easy to mix them up, both slow and dull scorers.
England captains have dire ODI records from 92 onwards.Atherton, Nas the nose,Vaughan,Strauss awful players at the ODI format.
'cept Gooch and Stewart and Kevin P.
England since '92 WC final have been awful at ODI's.
Yeah they had their home series/Natwest successes but all in all
p1ss poor.

Haha, hides behind his sofa for two months of losing the Ashes then comes out when the Aussies win a couple of games of prank-cricket. Dire.

Cribb's online but not responding, don't really care about the trolling but the offensive comments are pretty dire

It's moments like these which make you fear for the future of the human race (and become increasingly pro-human sterilisation).

This whole tour has been a pretty good showcase of some truely poor cricket. It's been a glorious battle of who's been less crappy.

Disagree entirely. One of your set top bats gets out first ball, then what? You don't want to be trying to go big in the middle overs with a new batsman in, its just a waste.
What the?

Regardless of when you use it, batsmen can be dismissed during the PP.

The point is to use it when it is most likely to be maximised - that is, when your gun bats are at the crease or when you're on a roll. Instead, teams (like this morning) are predetermining when to use it (usually at the 45 over mark). And as a consequence, tailenders are being stuck with it, rather than it being timed to coincide with your best batsmen being at the crease.

It's a totally inflexible approach at present.

I'm as guilty as anyone when it comes to claining that when Oz win, it's because we've played well and visa versa but jeez Eng were rubbish last night

Team selection, execution and tactics were all diabolical

Anyway, one bright spot is that Lee looks as good as I can remember

Unfortunately, knowing our selectors, if a test were starting today, Cameron White would probably be preferred as a bowling option

I'm sure the kids will be just fine.

This really is a terrible one day outfit. Terrible.

I'm predicting England to do what they did on Friday and lose by about 8 runs or something to somewhat gloss over a poor performance. A good mullering would be more beneficial for us.

But at the end of the day, the only score that really matters is 2-1.
Poor play that

Why don't England give that other South African dude Trott a go. Strikes me as a strokeplayer who could go well at ODI level.

Thoughts anyone?
