I voted for Wright and Turner - don't know much about Dempster - I suspect others won't vote for him either just because of that reason. Edgar was awesome though.

John Wright really came on at the end of his career he went from a great batsman to a super star in his last year. It was a long time ago but if my memory served me correctly he adjusted his backlift so that he didn't hold it rigidly upright during the bowlers run up and adjusted his stance. The results were terrific.

I am hoping that the experts allow Sutcliffe to go three. He batted there too didn't he? Have heard rugged stories about him.

For the spin bowlers spot in the NZ best ever team I am voting for Tom Puna even though he won't be on the official list.

Tom Puna | Cricket Players and Officials | Cricinfo.com

I am voting out of RESPECT and loyalty. I played with Tom in my club team when he was 65. Tom had a heart attack and died a year later. He played cricket up until the end. He represented NZ three times in the 1960s.
Tom at 65 was the best spin bowler I have ever seen. He always seemed to have too many fielders to know what to do with. His bowling was so economical that he simply didn't have use for 11 fielders. Always took at least 4 wickets every inning for us that season when he was 65. RIP Tom.

Once though. Outside of 1-2, his most success was at 5.

Hmm lots of interest here and at the ground it seems...

Dunno why they always say getting run out backing up is very unlucky, if you don't back up that's the risk you take. Same as if you choose to try and hit a 6 over a boundary fielder and don't quite get it.

Full house (35,000 thousand) and they are making some noise. Bedtime in New Zealand, hence why it is dead around here...

Yeah, agree. Can't stand batsmen being halfway down the track by the time the ball is bowled in ODIs since Mankading was effectively banned.

Oram's a joke these days, he has no idea when batting.

Does anyone think Brrom will go the Flynn route. He'll get 10-15 games in the ODI team only batting when the team needs quick runs and then get the boot? It's a joke that Oram came in ahead of him.

Haha, was amazing before then on tour to Bangladesh, but naturally no one took any notice.

This knock's especially incredible considering how much trouble everyone else is having.
