Pasaq aren't you tired of backing these underperforming 20/20 players.
We are ranked 6th now.
Won't get any better if we keep picking these idiots.
Test cricket ability does not = 20/20 cricket ability.

Nah, I'm with Pasaq. Clarke just needs, say, 20-30 more T20s to find his range. Alongside Katich, he is crucial to our 20/20 success.

For me there is no harm in letting Clarke play in these T20 games before the next T20 WC, as compared to some of the other members of this Aussie side he hasn't played that many T20 games.

So if he can hone his T20 game through these T20 matches then great, but if he fails to do so, then he can chucked out of the T20 WC squad, as that's the only time when playing T20 games at the international level holds any real importance.

Clarke is a pretty poor T20 batsman at this point of time, and no doubt he would have to change his game to suit the T20 format, as he can't go on playing orthodox cricket in this format, like he has been doing so far.

He's young, blonde, athletic, highly marketable and the future captain of Australia though. Obviously he's an ideal Twenty20 player.

What about his bowling and fielding? Surely taking those into account too (and the Aussies need to find four overs from somewhere in the T20s), and given his captaincy given Ponting has seemingly retired from T20, they have to give him a chance. It's just a case of working out a role for him.

I don't know whether to blame Clarke or blame the management. It's obvious that he can score more quickly than the horrid 27 off 34 he hit on Sunday, but he's not doing it. Either he's ****-scared of taking a risk or he's being told to play a holding role. If there's one criticism I'd have of CA, it's that they have no understanding of T20 at all, so I suspect it's they, rather than Clarke, who think a holding role in T20 is a good idea.

Haha, if he can I'd like to see it. He has trouble finding gaps and isn't a big hitter. On top of that he's not willing to take risks and takes way too long to get in. The amount of leaves and forward defensives the bloke plays boggles the mind. If anyone doesn't understand the game, it's Clarke.

He's no good at the format, there's no shame in that. He's a wonderful Test batsmen and that's all that matters to me, but he's not a good limited overs cricketer anymore, end of story.

Am sick of hearing how Clarke's bowling is at all a factor in his selection. He's crapper than he's ever been, and it injures him.

Off to Old Trafford in a bit so that means it's gonna lob it down to greet my arrival. I'm going in fancy dress as Shane Warne if anyone wants to look out for me. Hoping to be able to stick it to a few crims in the crowd as well. Come on boys!
