Yea but that first shoulder injury came after IND 98. He missed the PAK tour 98 & the first 4 Ashes test of 98/99 because. Which then lead to the most mediocre phase of his test career from WI 99 to IND 01.

325 wickets at 25 is bloody good. india, new zealand and sri lanka would kill to have had a bowler of willis' class anytime in their history.

Yea i dont like the balance of the ENG ATXI. I went Trueman/Snow/Statham.

My choices as well. I dont mind Botham at no.6, I would rather any team have at least five bowling options given that this is test cricket. Trueman offers pace, Bedser is a seam expert, Botham can swing it and Barnes is a unique mix of all. Looks pretty good to me.

Great article on Wardle indeed. Based on what i've read about him & the little clips i've seen, he was superb. If he was playing now his ability to bowl left-arm orthodox & chinaman would have really caught the headlines.

Of course they would. So would India, (even Bangladesh and Zimbabwe for that matter) but thats no reason to include Ramakant Desai in an all time India XI nominations.

Haa, that selection panel only creating dilemmas for themselves. No way should John Reid be in this category. But Sutcliffe/Crowe/Donnelly are my chosen trio.
