Yea but that first shoulder injury came after IND 98. He missed the PAK tour 98 & the first 4 Ashes test of 98/99 because. Which then lead to the most mediocre phase of his test career from WI 99 to IND 01.IIRC he did. Warne then had a shoulder reconstruction in 1998. To quote Richie Benaud: "they opened him up and found his shoulder being held together by a string".
I think Willis and Gough are there because it would look terrible to have no worthy pace bowler for half a century - since the 1960's (John Snow)
325 wickets at 25 is bloody good. india, new zealand and sri lanka would kill to have had a bowler of willis' class anytime in their history.I think Willis and Gough are there because it would look terrible to have no worthy pace bowler for half a century - since the 1960's (John Snow)
Yea i dont like the balance of the ENG ATXI. I went Trueman/Snow/Statham.looks like the want to choose three pacers (besides botham as AR). dont know how good this team is going to be in comparison with the aus all time XI.
was very difficult to leave tyson out. but i had to go for trueman, barnes and bedser.
My choices as well. I dont mind Botham at no.6, I would rather any team have at least five bowling options given that this is test cricket. Trueman offers pace, Bedser is a seam expert, Botham can swing it and Barnes is a unique mix of all. Looks pretty good to me.looks like the want to choose three pacers (besides botham as AR). dont know how good this team is going to be in comparison with the aus all time XI.

Just had a look. I would go for Glenn Turner and Mark Richardson who just edges John Wright.
These selections are a joke really.they actually had the balls to start the new zealand team selection without having bert sutcliffe's name as an option. thankfully someone with sanity must have protested so hard to include him that his name is added now. voted for him and turner.
Of course they would. So would India, (even Bangladesh and Zimbabwe for that matter) but thats no reason to include Ramakant Desai in an all time India XI nominations.325 wickets at 25 is bloody good. india, new zealand and sri lanka would kill to have had a bowler of willis' class anytime in their history.
Dont think Taylor & Cairns should be battling for one spot TBF. Cairns should be must pick i would think. Taylor & Cowie would rather battle for one spot, even then i would go for Taylor.Dempster
