I think the Moles talk is just a need for accountability. Personally I think Glenn Turner should be asked to retire from his role. I don't like some of the philosophies he has implemented from a selection perspective. Moles is a mystery for me. I don't know anything about his background and I don't know how good a coach he is. Wouldn't mind it if someone who knows more about him could make a post. Those test series against England were pretty close. Especially the series in NZ (remember, we were up 1-0 after the Hamilton test) and we did throw away a winning position in one of the tests in England.
This series against Sri Lanka has pretty much gone the way any smart NZ cricket follower would have predicted. So, while it's disappointing, it is hardly surprising to see us perform like this.
Not quite sure where this "get rid of Moles" talk has come from. What exactly has he done wrong?
Very entertaining.Oram against Murali.
Should be entertaining and fast.
Shut up and call radio sportWe are not up to test status, seriously, this is a disgusting effort by 90% of the team and Moles cannot wash his hands of it.
We cant even compete with teams at test level now. Please tell me its going to rain.
So in other words, know they make the dumbest decisions possible?NZ should always bat like this. Know their limitations and stick to them until they develop a bit more experience, and then climb into the opposition if desired.
STFU you jinxing ****It almost makes you hopeful...
If only we had a 9-10-11 of Franklin, Mills, Tuffey
Or Tendulkar, Ponting and Lara.
Is that Danny Morrison? Na, just wants to talk about reverse swing all the time.ten sports worst comentary team in the world
does danny know enything about nz cricket?
Totally agree. About the only time he hasn't had to shoulder the batting responsibility in recent times would have been on the road in the second test against India. He and Moles probably see eye to eye on the application (batting especially) that needs to be drummed into this team for test cricket. Can't say I know much else about Moles but too early to condemn him for these performances as some seem to be doing.Real brain explosion from Oram. 7 balls till lunch and you play a shot like that...
Good fight from him though, showed that he can play spin as long as its not completely unorthodox. Only real question left is whether the tail can hang around long enough to get Vettori to a 4th test century.
I really feel for Danny boy. When he came into test cricket back in 1997, he entered an environment stacked with real fighters. Guys like Matt Horne, Fleming, Nash, Richardson, McMillan etc., players who would scrap and fight right to the end. In other words, test cricketers. It was a culture that obviously rubbed off on Vettori and helped build him into the player he is today. However, he now stands pretty much alone and I can't help but think that what Vettori was feeling as he sank to his knees after Oram's dismissal was a deep sense of frustration, bordering on loneliness. The fact that he's averaged 50 in this series makes me want him to bat at number 6 even more. However, being selector, captain, number 1 bowler and middle order batsman really would be too much for one player to shoulder.
Could beFor those who live in New Zealand, is Neil Wagner the real deal?
