Rohit Sharma or Ravi Bopara?

Cruxdude

International Debutant
The thing with Rohit is he promises so much and delivers so little. Twin centuries in the Ranji final, spanking form in IPL and in the warm ups before the t20 world cup. Come International matches he has disappointed. What is the use of talent when you don't use it. Some time off the squad should do him some good.

haha, like reverse fanboyism going on here; the Indian fans in this thread are the ones saying Rohit is crap!

Myself, in terms of International performance, Bopara. I think Rohit looks potentially a better player but then, Yuvraj is 'potentially' a better player than just about everyone around and we've all seen how that's turned out in relation to a his Test career.
More out of dissapointment than not rating him

Yeah exactly. If Rohit became a Carl Hooper for India, it'd not exactly be the end of the world, would it?

Not everyone can be a Tendulkar, Ponting, Lara etc. Hell, not everyone can be a Dravid, Hayden, Sangakkara either.

yeah agreed though I still back him to avg 45+ think he will forge a better career then Raina or Badri. Kohli looks tasty too.

There is nothing seriously wrong with Rohit's career. Yes he has had an average start to his career (an average of just under 25 in three years of international cricket). I think the feeling of failure is heightened by the hype surrounding his batting and his over exposure in 2008 (28 games).

In his first four years, Gautam Gambhir averaged 25.5 and see where he is today. Give the guy time. He is young and talented. He should be able to work it out. Over-hype does not help young cricketers.

Yeah I remember the Gambhir hate.

People were refusing to believe me in 2006 when I explained how much of a gun he was in International Cricket Captain. It meant he had to turn into a superstar.

Look at Samaraweera!
